Product Description
The EGO POWER+ 21" Select Cut Self-Propelled Mower delivers performance that exceeds the power of gas. The Select Cut Multi-Blade Cutting System is equipped with three interchangeable lower blades: the Mulching Blade, High Lift Bagging Blade, and Extended Runtime Blade. The Mulching Blade comes installed on the lawn mower and is ideal for weekly mulching, giving you the mulching quality expected from a high-end gas lawn mower. The High Lift Bagging Blade provides extra suction ideal for bagging, leaving your yard free of clippings. The Extended Runtime Blade provides an optimal balance of cut quality and runtime for all around performance. All three blades can be used interchangeably based on your desired cut. The Upper Blade is used in combination with the lower blade chosen to slice the grass into fine fragments, greatly enhancing cutting performance with all grass types. EGO Touch Drive self-propelled technology puts complete control of the self-propel system in the palm of your hands by using pressure to engage the system. Easily control the variable speed with a dial positioned at your fingertips for safe and convenient operation. The Select Cut cordless lawn mower harnesses the power of the industry’s most advanced 56V ARC Lithium batteries to deliver up to 60 minutes of runtime on a single charge with the included 7.5Ah battery. Three-in-one functionality delivers your choice of mulching, side discharge, or bagging your grass clippings; an easy-access two-bushel grass collection bag is included. This electric lawn mower includes bright LED lights for added visibility when mowing at dawn or dusk, and it folds for compact storage between cuts. (1) Twin blade “select cut” is quite effective at giving a neat cut. I’m guessing the arrangement provides a bit more lift to provide an even cut, even with the standard mulching blade.
(2) Mulching seems better than my previous EGO, even traversing in a few longer areas of grass I have caused no clumping as the machine powered through and chopped the blades nicely. Probably that second blade effectiveness again.
(3) Runtime seemed a bit longer, but that may just be my wishful thinking.
(4) Headlights are a bit brighter.
(5) I like the sleek and sporty design, including the way the headlights are integrated. I definitely be styling when cutting my grass, and enjoy the envious looks of my neighbors!
Continued good stuff (reason I bought the EGO again):
(1) Quiet for me and neighborhood.
(2) No hassles with gas, oil, spark plugs, air filter & such.
(3) Light & maneuverable.
(4) Interchangeability of the batteries with the five other EGO tools I enjoy.
But … (don’t you hate that word?): the one negative for me so far is the solution for engaging the self- propelling feature. The two embedded switches in the handle are not as holistic a user interface as the previous model. First time I used the new mower I wanted to move it over two feet after putting battery in; when putting my hand on the handle to give it a slight shove I unintentionally engaged the embedded switch and the mower started zipping away. Same thing when cutting; I typically use the drive when going up the slight rise in my front yard but not at other times and I find it counterintuitive to position my hands on the handle such that it doesn’t engage (particularly when maneuvering the mower when your hands tend to move around a bit). Vice-a-versa, once engaged if your hands move slightly it disengages too easily. I guess I could dial the speed back to zero after disengaging, but repeatedly dialing that off and on (and finding right speed when on) would be a PIA. I liked the previous scheme of the lever you would pull back to lie against the handle much better - was a more conscious and positive step to engage the drive, and easier to keep engaged as your hand moves about a bit on the handle. Safer too, IMHO. Maybe I’ll get used it it over time and find a new Zen, but (there is that dang word again) I doubt it.
Overall a fine mower I definitely would buy again. I just hope EGO goes back to the previous drive engagement scheme sometime in the next ten years before I buy my next EGO mower!

The mower is quiet in contrast to our gas mower.
The blades did an amazing job of sucking the clippings into the bag.
Our grass was a bit high and thick in some places and I was able to mow right through it at the full width of the mower without any bogging down. With our gas mower, I use to cut the width in half to avoid the blades bogging down.
The battery was enough for mowing the front and back. For context, we have a small front yard but a fairly descent size backyard (cul de sac lot).
After mowing, blew off dust with air compressor, removed battery and folded up to store. Easy!
All and all we are very satisfied with this mower and would recommend it.
Activating the self-propel motor emits an unbearable whine. The regular operation (without self-propel) is already too loud on its own and it sounds like the self-propel motors are working quite hard to move the mower forward. Not the experience you want if you intend to mow early morning or late at night. Your neighbors will not be happy with you.
Amazon customer service taking quite a bit of time to answer the phone to process the return (within 30 days of delivery). Apparently they think if they keep me on hold long enough the return opportunity will time out, but seems like this might go through after all... will have to update you later.

Super potente sono molto soddisfatto del prodotto vale davvero la pena perché Egopower è il top!!! Consigliatissimo
Which? referred me the Ego. I was pleasantly surprised to find a 53. It is about 10 kilos lighter which was a big plus as i grow old. The collection bucket seems to hold more than previous mower which saves time and mess. Little bit tricky to get accustomed to controls. I live on a slope and lawn is not straightforward but i find it easy and quick with the Ego. The battery easily copes. I have only used the Ego 5 times but so far seems an excellent purchase.
Eccellente !!!
