I grew up on stove top popcorn. It's pretty thin so it heats up fast. I cover the bottom with oil and use a half cup of Orville Redenbachers and it wants to blow the lid off. Completely full. Stirring mechanism keeps it from burning and you can let it go till every kernel pops. Literally.....every kernel pops up nice and big.
