- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2021Bought the MCP 8 piece set 2 years ago and it handles most of our daily needs without taking much space in our New York apartment. We like the metal lids and use these in the oven as well as on the stove. My only wish is that the handles didn’t get so hot when on the stove, but I suppose that’s the cost of the whole piece being oven-safe.
The brushed/satin combination is very attractive and our pots and pans still look pretty new (barkeepers friend ftw).
The heat distribution is amazing. This is one of a few sets that carries the aluminum through the walls of the saucepans rather than only on the base, and it definitely does so at the best price point. Highly recommend for those setting up their kitchens while trying to avoid Teflon, just give yourself time to get used to cooking on stainless steel. We were novices, and figured it out eventually. The amazing sears and caramelization are worth it.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 31, 2016Size: 12 PieceStyle: Tri-ply Set, 12-PCVerified PurchaseI got this on a huge sale, and expected to get a lower tier cookware on "sale"... Was completely blown away! These pots are gorgeous, and the metal is super thick and even all over. They're really heavy and sturdy; I could probably kill an average person with just the smallest saucepan alone. I can already tell these are going to be a joy to cook with. They certainly feel like they will last a lifetime, and definitely worth hundreds more than I paid.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2016I LOVE this set... HOWEVER a few of my pans came scratched. One came with a deep scratch that looks to be an imperfection in the stainless. But I don't want to bother with a return I am hoping it doesn't get worse. I have been looking for a heavy duty set for a good price for months. I purchased a Calphalon triply set but did not feel it was worth the cost. I ordered this when it was out of stock and when it came in it was shipped to me. And I love it I feel it is heavier than the Calphalon set!!!! The value for this set is phenomenal. The pans are the perfect size for my family. I like that it has a small pan as sometimes I like to make small amounts of sauce. The next size up I use for rice and it has a very nice steamer as well. I have used every pan in this set already and I'm very pleased. The first egg I made it slipped out of the pan like it was non-stick. Be sure to heat your pan up before adding butter. Then add butter Kama then egg and it will slide out perfectly. I just love this set and wish I had bought more for other family members. If you are on the fence between Calphalon and something else I feel this is actually better quality than the Calphalon having held both in my hands!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2019We wanted to replace our non-stick cookware with something healthier and more durable. We chose this set because of the reviews and could not be happier. They are well made (heavy but not overly so) and distribute heat much more evenly than our previous Teflon coated aluminum pans. Be careful not to overheat! If you are used to aluminum pans these will require less heat. They take a little longer to heat up but seem hotter once they do. Clean up is a breeze as long as you use a good cooking spray and don't burn the food onto the pan. We give the ma quick scrub in the sink and put them in the dishwasher cycle.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2019I've had the this set for several months now and I wouldn't trade it for anything!
The pans look as good today as the day I bought them. I chose the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro cookware set, after a considerable amount of research. I use them daily. Yes, you CAN cook with stainless steel without having your food stick. You can also get rid of that blue color that comes from heating. Here is how you do it.
First, quality stainless, like these Cuisinart pans, shouldn't be heated using high heat. Use medium heat, or less. Their heat distribution and retention mandates that you don't use high heat. When frying, PREHEAT your pan BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR OIL INTO THE PAN! This is the secret to keeping foods from sticking. Preheating the pan closes the micro pores, making a smooth surface. Heat your empty pan until 1/8 teaspoon of water, when put into the hot pan, moves around the pan without breaking into smaller balls or evaporating immediately. It'll look like an 1/8 teaspoon of mercury moving around your pan. Use a cloth and dry the water up, add your oil and allow it to heat to your required temperature. Add your food and cook. Never use cooking spray. These sprays will leave a residue which isn't good for the pan.
With stainless steel, you'll occasionally get a blue color, which is from heating. This can be removed in a couple of ways. You can put vinegar on the pan for a few minutes, which will dissolve it. Then wash as you would normally. I put vinegar in the pan, then use a blue scrubbing pad to clean it. You can also use Bar Keepers Friend, which is a very fine cleaning powder, made for stainless. Scrub your pan, rinse, and your pan will be as good as new. I regularly use Bar Keepers Friend on all of my stainless. All of my pans look as nice as the day I bought them. DO NOT USE COMET OR AJAX. They're too abrasive. Also, salt can pit the pans, so make sure that you read the directions that come with the cookware.
I've owned a lot of cookware in my lifetime, but the Cuisinart MPC is the best bang for the buck. I have a couple of pieces of Allclad and the Cuisinart MPC is just as good and costs much less.
You'll see some bad reviews here. First, make sure which pans they're writing about. Second, keep in mind that many people don't know how to cook with stainless steel. It requires that you change how you heat your pans, and the temperature that you use.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2017This is a great cooking set if you use common sense. Start up heat slowly, use non metal utensils, use cooking spray or an oil of your choice that can take higher heat, after cooking do not put water in pans until the hot tap water is approximately the temp of the cooling pan and wash the pans by hand more than using the dish washer. If you have stains, BEFORE they get to bad, take a plastic scrubbing pad and course salt plus lemon juice and scrub the pan. They will come out fine. Only negative I wish the set contained a 4qt sauce pan.
