    Customers find the security camera works well, is easy to set up, and provides clear day and night vision. Moreover, they consider it a good value for money, with one customer noting it's an inexpensive way to keep an eye on things. However, the motion detection and sound quality receive mixed feedback - while some find the sound intake impressive, others report the siren isn't loud enough, and while some praise the night vision, others say it doesn't work at all. Additionally, WiFi connectivity experiences are mixed, with some customers reporting stable connections while others experience frequent disconnections.

    Slick design, wall or ceiling mount
    When I purchased this camera I expected to have to wall mount it, but was delighted to discover it can be ceiling mounted under an eave, which trivialized my installation since an eave is much easier to deal with than a wall. All I had to do was drill a hole in the eave for the cable (which is about 8' long), mount the bracket, thread the cable through the hole and stick the camera into its bracket (where it is held securely by a very clever magnetic ring, a superior design that makes it really easy to make small adjustments to the camera view). To finish my install I simply connected the cable and its supply to an extension cord from the light socket in my attic and was good to go (I spent more time verifying the camera worked than in installing it). Since I did a ceiling mount, the camera was upside down, but the Kasa app has a setting to turn the image upside down, which corrects for that. Resolution is excellent, night vision is surprisingly good (much better than both my Ring doorbell and a couple of older Samsung cameras I have indoors), and lag is less than my previous experience with wireless cameras (I would guess about a second). Response is a function of bandwidth, so you have to take that into consideration in selecting where to install this or any other wireless camera. As an outdoor camera, it should be able to easily handle the indirect weather under my eave, but I can't say how well it would do in a more exposed location. The Kasa app is designed for use with smart phones and simply adds the camera to whatever other TP-Link Kasa devices you already have. With the app you can set up to 4 motion detection inclusion zones by dragging the corners of a quadrilateral to set each one. That allowed me to block off the curved street in front of my house to keep passing vehicles from triggering alerts. The alert screen (bell icon) on the Kasa app gives you access to the most recent 2Gb of recorded video triggered by alerts (you set alert sensitivity according to time persistence of movement). You can run the Kasa app on a PC if you install one of the Android simulator apps on your machine (I went with BlueStacks 4), which brings up the look and feel of your smart phone on your PC display. When the camera goes live, you get a widget in the lower right corner that allows you to switch from portrait to landscape, taking the image to full screen, which sure beats the heck out of using a smart phone to catch details. The camera has audio and a "siren", which are perhaps nice to have, but which I don't anticipate using (although if I spotted a perp I would certainly fire them up). I verified those features work, although the siren is not one that would wake the neighborhood, and the audio quality is about what you would expect from a wireless device. The audio pickup is quite good, maybe even too sensitive since I can hear leaves rustling.

      This camera met my buying criteria for
      -- a first time purchase of a day/night outdoor camera (so I can experience and learn);
      -- a camera priced under $100 (should functions not meet expectations the learning experience would not be costly);
      -- relatively easy installation and unobtrusive when installed (should it need to be removed);
      -- low maintenance (no battery replacement needed);
      -- Alexa enabled to show video on Echo Show or Amazon Fire TV; and,
      -- functional with a free plan or a low cost plan (less than $50/year).

      Camera was easily installed at the corner of garage where USB cable was routed through upper crevice opening at garage door; cable was tied down near the camera to avoid unintentional removal. An extension cord to an electrical outlet was provided to attach the USB cable to adapter inside the garage.

      I like the motion notifications for the selected area; it is sensitive to capture headlights or flashlight movements; it is intelligent to capture video frames before detection of motion; for example, with audio detection off, the video captured a car approaching around a blind corner before motion is detected in the specified area, though audio detection was off, it recorded video and audio. I got the $40/year plan that allows two weeks of video cloud storage; selected videos could be manually download to photos which OneDrive or DropBox automatically uploads to its cloud.

      The KASA app on the smartphone supports all my TP-link lights, plugs, switches, and now camera -- one app for all, a wonderful delight. The app unifies the TP-Link devices allowing “smart action" to perform simple IF-THEN logic with the camera and another device. There is no complex programming skill needed. For example, IF there is a detection of camera motion, THEN one can choose to turn another TP-Link device ON or momentarily ON and then OFF after a specified time. I have a "smart action" turn ON a red indoor light when motion is detected and then OFF after 5 minutes. This enables a visual notification of motion without having a smartphone or an iPad nearby to get an alert.

      I am delighted with purchase and glad that my other devices can be smartly "TP-linked" together.

      Caméra de bonne qualité, esthétique.
      Facile à mettre en service avec l'application Kasa de TP-Link, avec laquelle je pilote également des prises d'éclairage TP - Link.
      Le tout est pilotable avec Alexa d'Amazon.
      Le seul défaut est que pour l'Europe, le chargeur USB livré est à la norme américaine. Il faut donc prévoir un petit bloc d'alimentation standard 5 Volts avec une sortie USB.
      Les images sont fluides, que ce soit en Wifi ou à distance avec mon mobile 4G.
      Globalement satisfait du produit.

      Love it ! Works great inside my carport. Great video quality. App is easy to use. No issues all winter long, even in -25 degree Celsius weather.
      Hope they keep the cloud service free for all users.
      Siren could be a little louder but it’s still loud enough to scare thieves.
      Would buy again and yes I recommend it.

      UPDATE A 6 MESES DE USO

      La calidad de video es excelente. Comparado con las NEST no tienen nada que envidiarle. Tengo los dos sistemas y Aunque NEST es más caro y mejor construido , la experiencia de usuario es mejor en TP LINK. Me explico, La NEST es una cámara como un iphone, es perfecta y está perfectamente construida. La TP LINK es un poco menos, Pero para mi opinión, es junto el "sweetspot" entre precio y calidad. Las NEST son absurdamente caras.
      Otro punto es que NEST te cobra por almacenar, si no pagas después de tu periodo de prueba no te grabará en la nube ni un solo segundo Y la suscripción es cara. TP LINK también tiene suscripción pero te da 2 días de clips totalmente gratis.
      Los clips duran varios segundos, suficientes para ver que pasó.

      Recomiendo usar solo como sistema secundario, o sistema de interiores. Nada va sustituir un sistema de cámaras con DVR que grabe en HDD 7 por 24. Este sistema TP LINK es perfecto si combinas tu sistema de DVR para tener 2 sistemas corriendo al mismo tiempo. Si uno falla tendrás el otro. Y si algo pasa podrás tener mucha más información.

      Puntos buenos

      - Excelente calidad de video
      - Base estable, se recarga facilmente en muebles
      -Conectividad
      -Portátiles, cambia de locación con solo desconectar y volver a enchufar en otro cuarto

      Puntos MALOS

      - Clips de video a veces son insuficientes
      - A veces no graban
      -Solo graban cuando detectan movimiento y aveces no lo detectan (no pasa mucho pero si me ha pasado)
      - Sistema de alertas excesivamente enfadoso
      -Falta mejorar "zonas" de detección, aunque configures una no la respetará

      Conclusiones a 6 meses de uso.

      Me encanta como sistema secundario, Tengo mi DVR y aparte complemento con este. Lo uso más para imterior que para exterior. Aunque a veces lo dejo en una ventana apuntando hacia afuera. Para monitorear al perro funciona de maravilla, aparte de que le puedes hablar desde tu celular.

      Comparado con NEST este sistema es por mucho mejor, compré NEST y me arrepentí por su App poco práctica y que obliga a suscribirse para grabar video.

      Han bajado un poco de precio, valen la pena si quieres mucha portabilidad, creo que ahí reside su encanto y su excelente calidad de imagen las hacen muy atractivas.

      Desde hace tiempo soy fan de los productos TP-Link KASA. Me parece que es de las pocas compañías que están tomando el camino correcto en la automatización de hogares.

      En esta ocasión me decidí a comprar la cámara de exteriores KASA Cam 1080p. Quiero decir que estoy muy contento con la compra. La cámara está excelentemente bien construida y sus materiales son aparte de muy agradables al tacto de extrema solidez. Creo que es un producto que si durará mucho en el exterior. Trae sirena y micrófono para escuchar lo que pasa. También trae bocina y puedes hablar a través de ella. Suena bastante bien para el tamaño y si se escucha bien. Trae también una sirenita bastante ruidosita. LA activas desde la app. La cámara graba clips de movimiento y te los puede mandar a tu celular si así lo decides. Tambijén sube los clips a la nube y te va guardando material por 2 días. No cobra cuota ni suscripción mensual ni anual, al menos por el momento. Espero que siga así; gratis.

      La cámara trae un cable largo atachado y un cargador USB chico. Literalmente es Plug n'Play. La conectas, abres la App y la agregas a tu sitema KASA en 5 minutos. Muy sencillo y facil, me sorprendió lo bien diseñada que está la secuencia de instalación. Muy al estilo de SONOS o los productos Apple.

      Video. la calidad de video es muy buena, puedes seleccionar entre 720 y 1080, prender y apagar el mic, elegir zonas de movimiento, calendarizar, etc. La app es muy buena y versatil. En calidad de video no te defraudará, es muy buena que esto es lo que uno busca en productos con este tipo de precios.

      La instalación es muy pero muy sencilla y para nada frustrante. Sobretodo si ya eres usuario de productos Kasa y tienes la app instalada. Solo clickea en el signo de "+" y en 5 minutos la cámara estará funcionando. La app te va llevando paso a paso por la instalación. Aquí es donde al igual que SONOS, TP-Link ha sabido hacer las cosas, muy influenciada por Apple en su presentación, empaque y calidad de producto, el unboxing es muy bueno!

      Gran Cámara Wireless!

      UPDATE A 6 MESES DE USO

      La calidad de video es excelente. Comparado con las NEST no tienen nada que envidiarle. Tengo los dos sistemas y Aunque NEST es más caro y mejor construido , la experiencia de usuario es mejor en TP LINK. Me explico, La NEST es una cámara como un iphone, es perfecta y está perfectamente construida. La TP LINK es un poco menos, Pero para mi opinión, es junto el "sweetspot" entre precio y calidad. Las NEST son absurdamente caras.
      Otro punto es que NEST te cobra por almacenar, si no pagas después de tu periodo de prueba no te grabará en la nube ni un solo segundo Y la suscripción es cara. TP LINK también tiene suscripción pero te da 2 días de clips totalmente gratis.
      Los clips duran varios segundos, suficientes para ver que pasó.

      Recomiendo usar solo como sistema secundario, o sistema de interiores. Nada va sustituir un sistema de cámaras con DVR que grabe en HDD 7 por 24. Este sistema TP LINK es perfecto si combinas tu sistema de DVR para tener 2 sistemas corriendo al mismo tiempo. Si uno falla tendrás el otro. Y si algo pasa podrás tener mucha más información.

      Puntos buenos

      - Excelente calidad de video
      - Base estable, se recarga facilmente en muebles
      -Conectividad
      -Portátiles, cambia de locación con solo desconectar y volver a enchufar en otro cuarto

      Puntos MALOS

      - Clips de video a veces son insuficientes
      - A veces no graban
      -Solo graban cuando detectan movimiento y aveces no lo detectan (no pasa mucho pero si me ha pasado)
      - Sistema de alertas excesivamente enfadoso
      -Falta mejorar "zonas" de detección, aunque configures una no la respetará

      Conclusiones a 6 meses de uso.

      Me encanta como sistema secundario, Tengo mi DVR y aparte complemento con este. Lo uso más para imterior que para exterior. Aunque a veces lo dejo en una ventana apuntando hacia afuera. Para monitorear al perro funciona de maravilla, aparte de que le puedes hablar desde tu celular.

      Comparado con NEST este sistema es por mucho mejor, compré NEST y me arrepentí por su App poco práctica y que obliga a suscribirse para grabar video.

      Ya había comprado otra cámara de la marca TP Link y es muy útil pero esa era para interior. Ahora que obtuve esta la puse a prueba y al igual que la otra su calidad es excelente además que esta la coloqué en la cochera ya que presume de ser weather proof. Considero que es un buen precio por el producto que se obtiene, una de las cosas que me llamó la atención es la habilidad de sonar una sirena vía remota ya que como muchos hemos sufrido de la delincuencia, al menos esta sirena puede hacer un poco de ruido para persuadir a los ladrones y de no ser así al menos los estará enfadando mientras intentan hacer sus cosas. También otra ventaja es que al ser de digamos un rango de precio mayor al de su otra línea, esta ofrece hasta dos días de grabación en la nube.

      Sobre la sirena que mencioné anteriormente, es manual es decir que no se puede configurar una zona o alguna alerta de movimiento para que suene automáticamente, lo cual tiene sentido si no sonaría todo el día por cualquier motivo. El video es 1080p HD y tiene visión nocturna características que vienen anunciadas en la publicación, desde mi punto de vista la calidad del video es bastante buena, al menos yo no requiero algo en 4K ni mucho menos con esta cámara tengo el nivel de detalle que requiero y cumple con las notificaciones en tiempo real así como el almacenamiento en la nube.
