The all around best Mini Projector!!!

The all around best Mini Projector!!!
I originally bought my fiancé a different mini projector for Christmas and was immediately disappointed at the device and its features. I returned it and got another one, again I was disappointed with the features and so called airplay. 3rd times a charm, when we received this device we did not only see the quality of the projector but could feel the quality of this product. I love the available apps for download striaght to the device... Netflix, Hulu, Amazon TV, YouTube and many more of my favorites! Not only is there an option to download a remote control for this device from the AppStore, it also comes with a physical remote control that is so smooth and User friendly. It makes using this device easy for anyone. I suggest whatever projector you chose to purchase must have a remote. The speaker on this device blew me away compared to my 2 previous purchases. The sound quality made our viewing experience top notch! The cooling (fan) for the product was 10 times quieter than our previous purchases. The battery last 4 hours on this device 2 & 1/2 hours longer than our previous purchases, so impressed! I bought accessories for the other mini projectors I returned, they were cheap and not made well. The accessories for this product, sorry I have to say it again... loved the quality and look. It was a pain buying and returning the previous devices but once we got a hold of this product it was all worth it! This is exactly what I was looking for and I am very pleased with our final purchase. Thanks Nebula for making a great piece of technology!!! I’m looking forward to researching other products made by you!

I had this on a watchlist for over a year & took a chance when it was on sale to try it out fully thinking I was going to end up disappoonted & returning it. I have a full size protector that dwarfs this one in brightness but it's a hassle to set up (wires everywhere!) & with kids it's just an annoying endeavour.

This thing is sooo much more practical & easy to use. Everything is wireless. All of the apps are built in. The app store is limited, but all the main streaming apps are there (hulu, netflix, Disney+, Fubo, YouTube, all major sports, etc). Theres also multiple browsers you can download & I was able to pull up some live streams via the browser, but it was a bit of a hassle due to the browsers being clunky.

Navigation via the interface is very straight forward & personally I find it intuitive. You can navigate 3 different ways which is helpful. The top is a touch pad which I found to be very responsive and easy to use. It comes with a remote which I also haven't had any issues with. Most of the time I use the remote or the touch pad. You can also download an app remote to your phone. The app is very easy to use & has the best functionality of the 3 (keyboard & easy switching between a visible pointer like a mouse or invisible scroll). Some of the apps are finicky & will require the app, others are finicky and certain features on the remote wont work (for example scrolling on Disney+ & Netflix require use of the pointer). So theres some trial & error with the apps but overall the experience is considerably more smooth than I was expecting & infinitely easier than using my full sized projector.

What really shocked me with this thing was the connectivity. If you're not streaming directly from the device not only can you screen mirror from your device (both apple & android) but you can also stream from a laptop several different ways. From a standard windows media player you can stream directly to the projector (in the windows media player menu theres a "send to" option & the nebula will be listed) but you can also download media players like VLC into the projector & it'll automatically recognize the media files in your computer and you can scroll through them from the Nebula & stream them wirelessly. MKV files tend to buffer a bit more, but that may be my wifi because I have the same issue when I stream MKVs to my TV as well. Aside from that I havent had any issues with buffering or random crashes in the 6 months I've owned this projector.

The device also has a USB & HDMI connector in the back. Both have good speed & I havent had any issues with lagging or buffering. One thing I did notice is that when my laptop was connected with the HDMI the bluetooth to my soundbar had a very noticeable delay (theres no delay when streaming to the nebula from the same laptop). Streaming devices like Chromecast & firestick work via the HDMI. I stream sports via my laptop to the chromecast connected to the Nebula regularly without issue. There is a bit of a delay with the soundbar but it's not as noticeable when streaming via the chromecast.

The bluetooth itself works great. I was skeptical that this would stream full immersive sound to my soundbar but it sounds great. Just as good as via my blu-ray player or when we stream from other devices. I also enjoy being able to bluetooth the nebula directly to my earbuds while watching a movie or sports. It creates a pretty impressive 3d sound experience. My one complaint about the bluetooth is most of the time I have to go into the settings to connect it. It does auto pair if the bluetooth device is already on when you turn on the projector but if you turn on the projector first it doesnt auto pair.

The sound from the speaker in the projector itself isnt bad. It's not amazing but it's on par with a bluetooth speaker of that size.

So far the battery life has been impressive. The projector has 3 picture settings. High brightness, auto & low. On auto I can watch two movies, roughly 5 hours, on one charge. On the high brightness setting I got about 3 hours. Charging the device to a full charge from a completely drained battery took about 2 hours. Overall I was impressed with how quick it charged & the battery life. If the battery runs low during use you can use it while its plugged in without any performance issues.

I bought this knowing it had a lower picture quality than the newer models. The trade off was the longer battery life. The picture is noticeably less crisp than what you get on a flat screen TV, but if you buy a projector the size of a pop can thinking your getting flat screen picture quality I dont know what to tell you. The picture is more crisp the smaller the projection. We project to 70-100 inches, which is at the top end of the recommended size. I dont have any complaints. Its DVD quality at worst. Watching live sports I can see the puck & or ball & easily read the names on the jerseys. In animated films like Frozen you can see every snowflake & detail in the water. Focus is manual. It is very fine focusing which is good & bad. It's very touchy but I enjoy having manual control. The keystone correction is auto & its excellent. When we use this in the living room i place it on a shelf that is angled forward & it corrects perfectly. It has a tripod connector which we also use & it would be miserable to get the picture level without the auto keystone (in the settings it does have a manual keystone feature, but the auto works better).

This projector is not designed to be as bright as a full sized projector. My full sized projector is 5x as bright as this one & it is noticeable when they're side by side, but if you're watching a movie in a dark room this projector is more than adequate (brighter projectors are made for brighter settings. In a dark room being brighter doesnt make a huge difference). On the Nebulas lowest picture setting you can still see even dark films like The Dark Knight just fine. If I'm watching a darker film I usually switch it to the brighter picture setting because it makes the experience better but honestly at that setting the experience is as good as it is on my +1000 lumens full sized projector. (Fyi You do get a brighter picture if you're projecting on a real projector screen compared to a white wall or piece of fabric).

We've used this in multiple places. My kids have watched movies on the ceiling while taking a bath, shining down onto the water while in a pool (finding nemo), on the side of a tent, on walls & toy castles as a backdrop for play & as a regular movie night. I havent had any issues with durability but I also haven't had any major drops either.

Overall I'm beyond impressed with this thing & glad I took the chance and bought it. It's been the most used device in our house over this past year. Absolutely would buy another Anker projector when it's time to upgrade.

This things is exactly what ive been looking for. I wanted something that I could take with me camping and I must say its outdone itself. Ive done my research and even though its a bit pricy, for the 200 ansi and the 4 hours of battery life you get on it plus all the android apps (you can download netflix movies onto it!) it its absolutely worth the investment. The picture brightness will allow you to begin watching maybe a little before sundown but that all depends on how close or how far you are from the screen. At max distance, id say sundown is a bit dim but still viewable. (I know that sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo but thats the best way I could put since my main concern is viewing outside). I will say that although the speaker is loud and definitely something you could use just as a stand-alone function, it isnt the greatest quality audio. I already had a JBL portable speaker that is around the same size so the duo plus a small tripod is something I take with me on every outing. Quick tip, invest in a good quality WHITE tarp/screen/shower curtain because although you can still watch movies on a black canvas, it takes away from the quality of the movie/show. At home I project this on my ceiling while in bed and that works great as well. The auto adjustment for the keystones correction works great but isn't always perfect so I just switch it off which is a cool feature (works great when its a screen infront of you just not the ceiling from what ive experienced so far). The remote is fantastic tool to have though having two other ways to control it via the touch sensitive top of the projector and the app remote is a great way to trim extra weight from you pack (if your a hiker) though the touch sensitive top does take a bit of getting use to. You can choose between the scroll and click or pointer cursor options when making selections. For the Android portion, some apps like Disney plus you need to download the helper app before hand so that you can download Disney plus. I'm not sure yet what apps arent available but the most popular streaming platforms are from what I can tell. Physical memory isn't extensive so I would consider downloading movies onto a flashdrive and using that as your portable library (lots of cool videos on youtube to show you how).

Edit April 2021: I still am in love with this projector and now use it as my primary media streaming platform in my room. Ive played video games and streamed hundreds of shows on it so far just in daily use. I have two portable speakers I use now to create the surround sound effect but will use just the speaker on the projector when I'm going to sleep. A cool little feature is that the projector will turn itself off after a little bit of non use and if it isnt playing anything so you dont need to worry about draining the battery. It's paid for its self in just the short amount of time that ive had it and I couldnt be happier.
