Works for migraines too
If you're someone who struggles with migraines, then you understand the importance of finding reliable relief and fast. This heating pad is cumbersome when used for this purpose but it's doable. My old routine consisted of lying down in a dark room, using a regular sized heating pad, literally tied to my forehead, then I placed books on top of it for counter pressure. This heating pad alleviates the need for tying one to my head, and using books. Because this is a wrap around unit, once fitted to my head, the counter pressure is kind of built in. I used this on the hottest setting and it still didn't get quite hot enough, at least not to my liking. Enjoy my ridiculous picture- it shows how I made it work on my head for migraines.

Let me start by saying I very rarely post reviews, good or bad.
After reading these reviews I was questioning the legitimacy of them seeing how every single person got their item for free. Well I did not! I paid for it.

I suffer from severe arthritis as well as very bad joints.

Right now I am dealing with tennis elbow for the 2nd time in 2 years and a strained rotator cuff both on the right side. This makes it it hard to sleep. This time the pain is much more intense with my elbow then the 1st time. Basic heating pads weren't cutting it. The pain is so severe I have been having to get up on the middle of the night and put my brace on because the pain will wake me up out of a sound sleep. I ordered this and it was expensive and I debated on ordering it at all....but I'm glad I finally ordered it. I have had it on all night so far and will probably keep it on all night and just wake up and turn it back on if it shuts off!

So far I'm loving it and super happy with my purchase. Heats up really well and wraps nice and tight.

I'm sure my hubby will be fighting me for it after he try's it. Then I may be getting another! 😊

So I have an autoimmune disorder that affects my joints and tendons, leaving me in a ton of pain basically all the time. I have (multiple) heating pads in each room, but they're never good enough. My right knee gives me the most trouble - it hurts all the time - and I always try to wrap the heating pads around my knee and I always tell my husband like "I wish there was a heating pad that just..wrapped itself and applied some pressure" and truth is THERE IS and I just never looked. This seriously helps so so much, I cannot describe to you how much it has helped. It attaches to itself via velcro, which only sticks to one side of the heating pad, making it super easy to figure out the easiest way to wrap it around your limb (or I guess body if you want very thin heat applied in an inner tube-like fashion around your whole body). The only, only, only complaints I have are that the way the cord attaches to the heating..strip itself is a little clunky, so it can be awkward, and also if I get it on there really good and I want to get up for any reason, if I unplug the heating pad from the cord (allowing me to get up without detaching the heating pad from myself), then I have to unplug it before i can turn it on again once everything is plugged back in. Otherwise, honestly it's so great. Even those two things aren't even like, complaints. Like, they're whatever is one step above a complaint. I love it.

This heating pad works very well for my ankle. I sprained my ankle and it feels good to have a heating pad on it. I love that it is easy to wrap around my ankle and that it stays in place while using it.

I have inflammation in the muscles of my upper arm and thought this heating pad wrap would be perfect for pain relief of a limited area. After several days of usage, I'm just not sure it's helpful. I like the wrap-around idea, and the pad does stay in place when wrapped around my arm. I tend to agree with other reviewers that the pad would be more effective if it were a couple inches wider and provided heat to a larger area. The current length and width would only be helpful on thinner areas like a wrist or ankle. On the high setting, it gets plenty warm. The medium setting doesn't seem to produce heat consistently. I will probably keep this heating pad for special needs, but it would be much more useful if it were wider. Sunbeam - keep working on this!

This thing only worked for 2.5 months. The inconsistent heating reviews, I believe, depend on whether you're someone who follows the instructions or not. The directions say to not let the layers overlap, but the single layer doesn't get warm enough to heat anything. Double up or overlap the strips and they get too warm. (It needs to be about an inch wider, imo.)

I used this for tennis elbow and was constantly rewrapping it. The other awkward bit: the cord is really heavy and very bulky, so it was constantly in the way (See photo). The cord to the control is also very short, so it feels like being tethered to a very restrictive leash.

One thing that I didn't consider before buying: you have to unhook it every time you stand up or move around. I can't list the number of times I went to stand up and was abruptly yanked back to the sofa. (That's more a "me" problem than a design problem though. Lol) The cord can be unhooked at the wrap rather than unwrapping every time, but the first 12 times I tried, the cord connection was really tight and bulky- I had to have someone else unhook it until it wore down and loosened up. (I have arthritis in my other hand.)

I started having problems with it blinking and not turning on two weeks ago (bought it Aug 10, today is Oct 12), but if I unplugged it and plugged it back in, it would reset and start working.
Today it officially died: it only blinks, no heat, no matter how many times I reset it.

It's a good concept, and a product that's genuinely helpful, but unless you're made of money, I'd suggest waiting for the next generation after they work out the kinks.
