For reference - I have long, fine and generally straight hair naturally but I get a lot of frizz around my crown and the top layer of my hair so I like to use an iron to smooth out that section or add volume at my roots. I also sometimes use it to create beach-y waves all over. Even though my high-end salon straightener/flat iron said it was dual voltage, I didn't want to take any chances while traveling for 8 days across Peru. So instead I decided to purchase and take the Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium Mini with the 1-inch plates. I'll admit that when it arrived and I saw how small and light it was I was skeptical, but it worked perfectly both at home in the US and in multiple hotel rooms in Peru. In fact, it is so light and convenient that I have reached for this instead of my pro one a few times since getting back from my trip. I've seen a few reviews here where people complained that it got too hot to hold while styling but I am guessing those folks did not see the two rubber buttons/grips on each side of the iron that are there to protect your fingers. I haven't been burned once using them! My only complaint - and it is a small one - is that if I rush and grab too much hair, it doesn't glide smoothly and my hair gets snagged in the plates. But that is user error, not the iron's fault. If I take the time to just grab the right amount of hair, it works perfectly. I am quite happy with the performance and size is super convenient for travel. I think this would also make a great first iron for someone (just be mindful there is only one heat setting and no auto shut-off).

Compre esta pequeña plancha viajera por dos razones: su tamaño, peso y función doble voltaje y porque la marca babyliss para mi es un referente de calidad. Tengo una plancha babyliss de uso diario más grande que ha sido maravillosa en todos los sentidos: calidad, eficiencia, durabilidad. Hice un viaje a Europa e iba con poco equipaje así que era fundamental para mí que este artefacto no pesará mucho y que usará energia 220. A pesar de haber cumplido su función durante mi viaje, es decir, el peso fue el ideal al igual que el tamaño y definitivamente me plancho el cabello tengo que decir que nonlo hizo de la mejor forma. La plancha, cuando la cierras le queda un pequeño espacio entre las dos piezas que es la razón por la que no alisa con precisión. Entonces hay que estar sorteando mechones de cabello más pequeños para que se alisen en la parte en donde si quedan juntas las dos piezas de metal y eso es bastante difícil. En la foto se ve claramente "la luz" entre las dos piezas de metal. Es una falla que no me imagine que podría ser posible porque como dije tengo una plancha babyliss grande y es absolutamente perfecta, alisa muy bien y con mucha precisión. Es por eso que no calificó con 5 estrellas este producto.
