Me and my boyfriend accidentally got it stuck to the bridge we were searching from, took both of us pulling full strength tug of war style to get it loose! Always make sure between tosses that both the connector screw and carabeaner are tight and you are good to go! I did notice that they loosen up occasionally and I think that attributed to some of the lower ratings if they did not check frequently. Highly recommend!     I ordered this after seeing a friend use his. My first outing was unfortunately my last, but not because of it being a poor product. It was the complete opposite. I was able to throw it out a hand full of times before I latched onto something. Regrettably, that something was large and heavy. I pulled and pulled and had some help pulling the rope. The magnet never pulled off of what it was holding onto. So unfortunately, I tied the rope to a tree and had to leave it behind. I will be purchasing again though.

    I wanted a magnet that would be good for retrieving fishing lures and I though this one would be great for that. Little did I know that not only would it attract fishing lures but it would go further and snatch the damn pitch fork out of satans hand. I dropped the King Kong Magnet in the water and it done what I expected. Then the unexpected. As I was pulling in my lure it found a washing machine. So I pulled it in, after that I found a refrigerator and the dryer to match the washing machine. So long story short it’s worth the money. Great for finding abandoned cars in lakes.
    P.S. make sure your rope is at least rated for 500lbs and then be ready to pull. You’re gonna find cars washers dryers and even the devils wrist watch.

    This is described as strong and sturdy, ip to 400 pound max magnet power! I took this to a calm cove area on the river side, threw it in twice, on the second throw, the magnet got wedged under a rock or something, so I (118 pounds 5'1") took the rope and began walking back and forth to try to un-wedge the magnet before I tried to pull on it, so as not to wedge it farther under the rock or debris. Finally I decided to just try pulling since I was not accomplishing anything walking back and forth. So I began to pull the rope and on the third pull.. I felt the rope slacken. So thinking it came free i pulled the rope back in, only to find that the magnet was no longer attached. The rope and carabiner clip, AND the ring that was attached to the top ot the magnet, were all that remained! The welding of the ring to the magnet was not capable of even withstanding the female strength grip of little me, qnd it just came right apart leaving the magnet were it was stuck under a rock. (400lbs max strength capacity? Not even close) I do not recommend this company for durability or craftsmanship)! Nor can I request a refund because I don't have the magnet part to return! Wasted my money!

    Delivered early. Magnet seems to be strong enough- handy accessories - great kit for me trying magnet fishing for 1st time - good value for money, Id recommend it to anyone wanting to try it out. Will update this in future after its had some use.
