- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2019The Q2 is definitely my favorite of the SOG Baton series. I also own the Q3, which I had high hopes for, but found the Q3 to be bulkier than I expected, and also had the problem of the handle sliding down onto the pliers when you try to use them (Q1 and Q4 have the same problem). But the Q2 is GREAT. I admit, one of the things that attracted me to it, is that it looks a bit like a sonic screwdriver from Doctor Who. Since it has a light, and literally IS a screwdriver, I reckon you could call it a photonic screwdriver! I really like the look of it closed, with the gear pivot. The light is decent, I love that it takes a common AAA battery. Twist to turn on. If you twist it just shy of "on," you can do momentary on/off by pressing your thumb against the side of the bezel. The screwdriver/bottle opener works well, and makes a satisfying "click" when you open and close it. The knife is a decent usable size, keeps an edge. With practice you can deploy and close the knife one-handed pretty quickly. Most people will not realize this is a knife, either. And if you hand it to them, it will take most a while to figure out how to open it. I have a lot of fun fidgeting with the Q2, opening and closing it, flipping it in the air, twirling it in my fingers. It is currently the tool I carry the most, and I definitely use it on a daily basis. I like it so much, when I thought I lost it, I had to immediately get another one. Then I found the old one! Keeping the new one as a backup, though. I love the Q2!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2021If you needed to hold a flashlight and a knife in one hand, there was basically one option on this Earth. This marvelous tool has been discontinued, and so that must now be updated to NONE. So this is the only option for anyone needing to power a battery operated radio and having to open the battery pack while standing amidst waters, and that option has now been lost to history. So good luck fellow basement dwellers. Good Luck. If your basement where you dwell fills with water as it sometimes may and you need to listen to some talk radio before you leave, you're basically going to have to just give up on car talk until you can see the light because we all know how hard it is to open a package of batteries by hand. I'm sorry. I bought the last one. Also: what if you need to cut cheese in a power outage? What if you want to cut string off of your clothing while simultaneously blinding a friend? What if you forget your EDC? What if your flashlight is too big to fit in your pocket? What if you don't have teeth that you feel are strong enough to hold either the flashlight or the knife? You will have to choose, as I've previously mentioned, I have acquired the last of these fabled artifacts, however I will be glad to share it with you for a considerable markup.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2021I purchased this product based on the number of stars, but did not read the reviews. After reading some of the top and negative reviews, I had my regrets but am very happy that I did not cancel the order. This was WELL WORTH THE MONEY! I love this, and SOG has done well once again... will continue to be a repeat customer and heck, I may buy a 2nd just because.
Pros:
- STURDY, had a nice weight to it but you won't notice it in your pocket...
- Fits in the pocket of my jeans with plenty of room left over; convenient.
- Light is Bright!
- Blade is SHARP! Mine didn't pass the arm hair test but its sharp enough for my liking
- Came with a energizer battery! Was quit pleased and surprised and am very happy it uses a full size battery
- The blade is in a fixed position, so when its being used, you don't have to worry about the blade chomping down on your finger.
Cons:
- None really, but would be an improvement to give the user the ability to focus the light.
I absolutely love this product... something I would actually carry on a daily basis. I never had the need for a pocket knife, or a flash light by itself... but all 3 (bottle opener) tools in 1 is something I could use on a daily basis.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2020I broke my ma's can opener this morning while gettin' her doggy some food. Whipped out the can opener on my 3 day old Baton Q3 and opened her right up. The can, not the dog, I am not a sociopath. I was surprised how easy it cut through the can, sure it took a while but hell I had no other plans for the day. Maybe 30 seconds? Fits perfectly in my pant pocket. The Baton, not the open dog food can.
Very fidgetable. Comes well oiled. I wiped mine off and spent some time lubing it with Tuff Glide. After working the tools for a bit they lost their annoying stiffness and have settled into a very nice, movement with just a very tiny nick needed to index and pull out only the tool you want.
Other than the Leatherman Micra on my keychain, the Q3 is the only multi that I carry on my person. EDC for me and I'm thinking of buying the other 3, the Q1, Q2 and Q4. Not because I need them, the Q3 is the only one I would carry. But the others could go near their respective places in the home where they would be used.
Sog, you hit it out of the park with this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Everyday Carry, but a little heavy than most of my EDC.
The SOG Baton Q3 is great for EDC, but is a little bit heavy and the pliers is awkward to hold even for tightening of small nuts. Side tools are a little bit hard to open, but he plus side it has lock and comfortable to hold due to its long handle. Overall I give for stars easy carry w/ pocket clip.

3.0 out of 5 stars Útil como artículo novedoso...
