- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2020Size: DJI Osmo PocketVerified PurchaseBought mine the day they were released and have absolutely 'no' buyer remorse. There are heaps of reviews on YouTube where you can see the video it can produce (excellent), but I do note all the reviewers agree this camera is a game changer. It really is a 4K 'pocket' camera with broadcast quality video and so easy to take with you. Yes your (expensive?) phone camera can take 4K but not with the smoothness that this Osmo Pocket can achieve. No it's not as robust as a GoPro and you can't use it under water without an enclosure, but it is very well made and I'm blown away with the results (operator errors excepted) The one downside I found was DJI's insistence on 'Activating' their products before you can use them. In the case of the Osmo Pocket this is aggravated by needing a Smart Phone with a 'USB C" connection to plug the Pocket into. Not helpful if you have a phone with a Micro USB connection - however - I found with an 'OTG' adaptor (e.g OnePlus OTG C) I was able to connect to my Galaxy 7 and not only activate it but use the Mimo sotware The LCD screen is big enough for framing reasonably accurately, and the touch interface for controlling modes/settings/reviewing film/photos works well. Switching between video and photo is easy (single short press of the on/off button) and the quality of the 12 Mp photos is as good as any smartphone.. The shooting angle of 80 degree's is wide enough while avoiding fish eye distortion so common in action cameras. Panorama's (180 degree Pano or 3x3 wide angle) are dead easy to take though at the moment can only be viewed on camera or in the Mimo software (IOS/Android) My pick though is exporting these Pano/Wide Angle shots will be high on the developers list of must do's, let alone the keen app writers out there looking for an opportunity. FWIW the Pano photo's are in a separate folder on the Micro SD card and could be stitched together with Photoshop or any similar editor. Accessories are not too expensive, though at the time of review have not reached retailers. Interested to note the overseas Auction sites and other sources have heaps of accessories available now so they are picking the Pocket will be a success. Overall I think the Osmo Pocket is a nice balance between size, performance and price. For Pro 'A' roll use your Osmo Plus or DSLR on a Ronin would probably be better, but then having removable batteries, mic inputs, headphone and video outputs, follow focus adaptors etc goes way outside of what the Pocket is about . For small discreet, Vlogging and B roll filming it can't be beat. For the keen amateur / semi pro it is just so much easier to use than a Smartphone/ Action camera to get that shake free video. For Poppa videoing the grandkids, so dam simple to use.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2019Size: DJI Osmo PocketVerified PurchaseEDIT 2/18:
So with their new firmware you can now edit Pro settings right on the Pocket itself! Very useful as you don't have to plug in your phone anymore. They also added a Cinema Color Profile which mutes the colors a bit so you can do color correction later in software. I'm bumping it to 5 stars as this is the perfect device for a amateur user like me. Every update just makes the device even better!
So it's a new year and I wanted to try my hand at video making. I have no experience at all except from using a phone camera. My first thought was this is the perfect size in my hands. It's also very light and holding it does not fatigue my hands at all. The mechanical gimbal is very cool. It has three modes: Follow, First Person, and Tilt Lock.
The touchscreen on the device is very responsive. Easy to use swipes and taps, you can select different features pretty quickly. The phone attachment is very iPhone and USB-C phones only right now. I believe they are working on a update for micro-usb phones. When you plug in the phone you get access to more robust options like manual adjustments to ISO and frame rates. Also when you get your right setting and unplug the phone, the settings stay on. The only hinder is that you have to plug the phone back in to change it again. When you plug in the phone I would recommend using two hands to operate. The only thing that would worry me is the little lightning connector holding up my big iPhone will snap.
You can easily plug in to a power bank and film way longer. Right now the battery life is good, getting about 2 hour shooting time. It comes with USB-C wire and the phone connectors for iPhone and USB-C. Also a pretty good hard plastic case that protects your device. There are many accessories coming so stay tuned for those. Also don't worry about the touching the gimbal itself. It's pretty sturdy and it was meant to be manually moved around to adjust the tilt angle. Coming from just a normal dude, this is a pretty awesome device! I have played around with a Go Pro but if you put that thing on a gimbal itself it can get pretty heavy.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2019Size: DJI Osmo PocketVerified PurchaseI've had this item for 3 days only but definitely satisfied.
I'm not a Professional user, I just need a stable video camera to capture special moments with my family and I think this does the job well. It's unbelievably small and easy to use. I have not stopped taking videos of my baby the past few days :))
It does have some flaws but for a product this small, i'm sure you'd expect to not be perfect.
Let me rebuff some issues I read about this which made me a bit hesitant in purchasing this item in the 1st place (but then eventually jumped the gun and hoped it would work well)
1.) I remember reading about an interview with Jony Ive (Apple) and someone asking him "why do iPhones have such poor battery life" and he responded with "Do you want a bigger phone?" If you want a Gimbal with shitload of features, then get a larger Gimbal.
2.) Also, majority of the negative reviews are -> "Does not fit my micro usb.." Yes that sucks but if people would read about compatibility issues on what they'd buy first then there would be no issue.
3.) "You can't replace the battery and once the battery is gone its useless" -> Please tell me -> did that ever stop you from buying your new iPhone / Android Phone
My only issue is that the Microphone is more suited for "Selfie Videos" since the Mic is facing you. I just wish they added another mic in front. But again, for an item this small..
So far, its still a 5 for me. Will try to update after a month of use. Cheers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Un concentré de puissance dans le creux de la main
Size: DJI Osmo PocketVerified PurchaseCe produit Dji Osmo Pocket m'a littéralement bluffé.

5.0 out of 5 stars At last, a 4k camera with quality stabilised video that fits inside my pocket and is easy to use!
Size: DJI Osmo PocketVerified PurchaseThe media could not be loaded.
The DJI Osmo Pocket can be used in place of the camcorder, the phone with gimbal and for the most part the GoPro wth gimbal. I will only be taking this camera and the GoPro next time and no gimbals. The only issue that I can see is that I will not have an optical zoom capability without the camcorder, not a big deal as far as I am concerned.
The DJI comes packaged in a strong compact box and inside you will find: The Camera, a hard plastic carrying case, a wrist strap for the carrying case, a USB to USB C charging cable, a USB C connector, an apple lightning connector, a set of instructions and a few more pieces of paperwork. The two connectors are to allow you to connect the camera to your phone, please see the video. If your phone does not have either an apple lightning connection or USB type C connection, do not buy this product, because as far as I am aware, you cannot use it until you have downloaded the DJI Mimo app, connected the phone and activated it. There may be another way to activate the camera, but I am not aware of one.
The process of activation was a little confusing, but in all fairness it only took a couple of minutes and you have to create a profile with DJI in the process. The app allows you to control the camera via the phone and alter settings etc. I did not spend a lot of time looking at it because the whole idea of this camera as far as I am concerned, is that it fits easily into your pocket and can be pulled out, turned on and used to capture great quality video; anytime any place anywhere, without any fuss. It certainly can do that. I have posted this review on YT if you want to see the video in 4K, unfortunately Amazon compress the files so it is not possible to see how good it is on here.
The camera has two buttons, the one on the left is the on/off/mode button and the one on the right is the shutter release/record button. as well as these buttons there is a very small touch screen that allows you to use the camera and in use it is quite good. The menus only take a little time to get used to and they are all accessed by swiping up or down, left or right from the four sides depending on what you want to do. See the video.
In use the camera is great. The video quality is brilliant, I film mostly in 4K 30fps, but it will also record in 4K 60fps, 1080P up to 120fps. The audio quality is pretty good, certainly good enough for me. The fact that the strap does not fit the camera is ridiculous, I have nearly dropped the camera once already as it is so small. They should certainly have made a strap for the camera to loop around your wrist in use. The gimbal is amazing, hard to believe that they could manufacture it so small and still produce such good results. The start up and shut down process is a joy to watch too. There are three different operating modes for the gimbal; Follow, Tilt Locked and First Person View FPV. Please see the video.
So, as you can no doubt gather, I am very impressed with this camera. Hats off to DJI for producing such a brilliant product. It certainly ticks all of the boxes as far as I am concerned and I love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Leve, prática e com ótima qualidade

5.0 out of 5 stars Una cámara casi 'profesional' de bolsillo
