This tool is sturdy. The blade slide is at the top and there is a flip lever on the side that houses a compartment to keep replacement blades. The rubber grips make it easy to use when cutting all those Amazon boxes. Good tool, especially for you frequent shoppers.

    I don't know why it took me so long to purchase a box cutter. I was using scissors and my hands to rip stuff open. The first time I used them I wondered why it took me so long to get them. I haven't had to change the blade yet, but am glad it came with replacements.

    These make it easy to open boxes, cutting along the taped area. It's also very easy to cut/breakdown boxes. These leave a clean cut. There isn't any stress on my hands or wrists.

    To quick change the blade, slide the top lever as far forward as it will go. THEN using thumb, LIFT the lever at the rear and slide it the rest of the way up. NOW the red button will release the blade and lock in the new blade without problems. Simply push in the red button and pull the blade out. Reverse blade (or insert new blade) until it clicks into place and retract with top lever. My very old identical cutter does not require the slide lever to be lifted in the rear, so I went nuts trying to figure it out until I lucked into this lift feature on the slide lever. I think it is meant to be a safety feature, but it is NOT intuitive.

    I have cut several hundred cardboard boxes with this knife and it is still going strong. I would not recommend cutting drop ceilings with this blade and instead use a carpet knife. The handle is good. Most times I can cut the cardboard with 2 passes - not 1 as I try to be careful of my floors getting scratched.
