Great so far (updated)
Update 24 August 2022 After using the scooter for over 200 miles now, I can say it really is as good as my first impression in terms of features and comfort. However, a few of points for potential buyers to be aware of, with the main one being NO STOCK on replacement inner tubes, so at least 3 weeks and waiting for new stock to come in to the GoTrax warehouse. This is a real problem for people like me that totally rely on their scooter for day to day use. Anyway, please note the following for more details on my actual discoveries. 1. Real distance carrying me at around 205lbs/94kg at 15.5mph is 20-25 miles. At the top speed of 20mph then 15-20 miles or even less dependent on terrain such as slopes and inclines. It does handle fairly steep inclines better than advertised. The stated distance of 45 miles gives no real context on the required parameters to achieve this, such as weight of rider and average speed terrain. 2. Punctures, especially rear drive wheel are a major pain to fix. GoTrax support has been pretty good though. They sent me links to videos on how to take off the wheel and tire to get to the inner tube. No bicycle or auto repair shops would touch it, so I had to learn to do it on my own. I bought all the tools I needed here on Amazon including ready glued patches that stick extremely well. However… after inflating the inner tube and placing it is water, I found at least 6 holes that needed patching. No idea how I got six punctures because I only ride on road and foot path surfaces that seem to be pretty clear of puncture causing items such as broken glass and nails. I patched all holes as per patch instructions but one of the holes is across the inner tube seam and it continues to leak air. I went on the GoTrax website to order a new inner tube ($25+tax and shipping), but no stock. I called support and someone answered almost immediately after the usual automated guidance system messages. The person answering was very friendly but after double checking on stock, he told me they are not sure when new inner tube stock is coming in. He said it could be this Friday or next Friday or even the Friday after. He said to just keep checking the website after each Friday. Not his fault but I told him this is a real problem for me and it would have affected my decision to purchase, had I known this beforehand when looking to buy any scooter. Since I now have a $900 piece of, currently useless, junk in my apartment, dismantled and causing a headache, I have to make some decisions as to what to do once the scooter is repaired and working again. Keep or sell? One other thing is the state of the inside of the tire where the inner tube fits against. It is full of knobbly bits of rubber protrusions, as if the inner surface was not cleaned up after manufacturing. I do not know if these caused the multiple punctures or if it was a defective inner tube, but just due to the amount of random punctures at a wide range of various positions, my gut instinct it telling me is was probably a combination of cheap inner tube quality and poor tire inner surface quality. So now I do have regrets. I should have looked at the availability of parts, the availability of local repair stores, and the complexity of repairing by myself. As they say, buyer be aware. I hope this update helps others make the right choice, while continue to state that the scooter is great apart from when something goes wrong. —————- First impressions are excellent. Easy to unpack and assemble. Robust. Great built-in cable combination lock and digital lock. Feels great to ride and very stable. Lights at night are incredibly bright. Zippy and great acceleration. Oh, and I really like the way it folds with the catch on the handle bar stem locking onto the bracket on the rear mudguard. Makes it easy to carry. I’ve only done about 40 miles so far and tried it at both gear levels. I mostly use it at the max 15.5mph level because it feels more comfortable in terms of speed. However, I needed to pickup a prescription from a pharmacy 4 miles away and we have a creek bicycle trail parallel to the main road, so I cranked it up to 20mph and the ride was pretty much flawless most the way in cruise mode. So far very happy and glad I did my research before selecting this particular make and model. Dislikes are (a) it’s heavier than I first imagined. Too heavy for my lightweight wife to carry folded. It’s OK for short lifts and carrying, that’s all. And (b) battery life is not going to give me 45 miles at the weight of 205lbs/93kgs. Not sure of full distance yet but testing it over an 8 mile stretch of trail at mostly 20mph saw the battery level indicator drop to about half. Later though, when I turned it back on, the battery level then showed a much higher level. Bottom line is that I am very happy with product and it has been extremely useful. No regrets so far.

I’ve been using the Gotrax G4 Electric Scooter for a few weeks now, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best investments I’ve made for daily commuting and weekend rides. This scooter checks all the boxes—powerful, durable, safe, and super fun to ride!

    🚀 Powerful & Smooth Ride
The 500W motor provides plenty of power, easily reaching up to 20 mph, even on slight inclines. The acceleration is smooth and responsive, making it perfect for navigating through city streets. It handles well and gives a solid, stable ride every time.

    Impressive Range
With a max range of 25 miles on a single charge, I can get through multiple days of commuting without worrying about recharging. The battery life has been reliable and consistent, which is a huge plus for anyone using it regularly.

    Double Anti-Theft Protection
The built-in digital lock and cable lock provide real peace of mind. I can leave the scooter parked while I run errands without constantly worrying about theft. This feature alone makes it stand out from a lot of other scooters on the market.

    Excellent Lighting System
The bright front headlight and rear taillight are perfect for riding at dusk or in low-light conditions. They significantly improve visibility and safety, especially in traffic or on darker paths.

    🛞 Durable 10” Solid Tires
The 10-inch solid tires are a game-changer—no flats to worry about! They handle bumps and uneven pavement with ease, offering a comfortable ride without the hassle of maintenance that comes with air-filled tires.

    Foldable & Portable
The folding mechanism is sturdy and easy to use, making it simple to bring the scooter inside or store in a car trunk. It's not the lightest scooter, but it's manageable and feels durable enough to last.

The GoTrax G4 Scooter is an impressive and fun way to get around! Some minimal assembly is required, but only involves putting screws in the handlebar area to secure the handlebars. After that, you want to make sure it is charged by using the wall plug charging device for a few hours until it is ready, which is when the green indicator light is showing. It has excellent security features that make it impossible to ride if you don't have the correct PIN, and hard to steal with the built-in cable lock. Acceleration is fantastic, and it gets up to its top speed very quickly. The ride is very smooth, and turning is a breeze! I like the safety features it has, such as a front headlight and a red rear end braking light, which makes it safe to ride at night. The LED display shows the battery life, so you will know when it needs charging, and also shows the mileage travelled as well as how fast you are going. When not in use, the handlebars can fold and clip onto the top of the rear end of the scooter, making it easier to carry, if necessary, and easy to store. The GoTrax G4 Scooter is an excellent way to travel and is also environmentally friendly since it doesn't burn through fuel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy coincidence

I originally actually wanted to purchase the Segway max and I placed the order on here when it was selling for 1350. But it took soooo long to be shipped that I cancelled and opted to get this one instead. I thought since it is cheaper that I should set my expectations low but holy this scooter is sooo great! It rides smooth, easy to operate and the built in lock helps when it needs to be left alone for a bit (like going in a restaurant and picking up food..I used it to deliver food and it has been so convenient)

The battery last long and I didn't want to drain the battery but I rode it til it has 1/4 battery remaining and it I estimate that it can go thr 40 miles as advertised ( the max speed is lowered though)

My only issue really is that it uses miles. I want to be able to set it to km but there is no option to do that but aside from that I'm happy with this purchase and highly recommend. I've seen the Segway max around and that thing definitely looks huge and heavier in person and seems more of a hassle to hand carry.

Overall happy with this purchase. If they have a newer model with km in the future, I just might buy that too since I'm thoroughly loving this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super trotinette

Super trotinette.

Excellent Customer Service – Problem Resolved Quickly!

I initially had an issue with the acceleration on my Gotrax G4 scooter, but I want to give a big thank you to the Gotrax team—especially SINI from customer support—for handling everything so professionally. They quickly responded to my concerns and sent me a brand-new unit after I reported the issue.

I’ve now received the new scooter, and it’s working perfectly. It’s rare to find a company that takes customer satisfaction this seriously, and I truly appreciate it. Highly recommend Gotrax not only for their products but also for their amazing after-sales support!

Ok , bought one last year , thr computer fried on it and it caused me to wipe put, they sent me a new one to replace once they received the old one and I was happy , I got it out of the box and the handle bars were crooked and it literally can't be straightened but I said I'll still use it and see what happens , well 2 weeks later boom another fried computer , its was constantly turning off and on and the alarm would go on and off so I sent it back as well and luckily I got a refund. I WONT WASTE my money on one of these and I don't think anyone should.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic piece of equipment

When I ordered the scooter, I was initially expecting to be disappointed. I felt that by opting to buy Gotrax over other brands like Apollo, that I should expect less of this scooter. However, I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived.

The scooter turned out to be much bigger than expected! Dwarfing even my friend's apollo scooter. The gmax ultra looks beastly, and it performs just as well. The ride is super smooth, thanks in part to the large air-filled wheels. I was also greatly surprised by the number of features such as the attached lock, entry code, and 20mph speed.

By far the greatest asset i've seen is the 45 mile range. I've been riding this thing around town and have not managed to drain the battery dead yet. Indeed, this scooter has significantly reduced my commuting time, and has opened many doors for me. Overall, fantastic device if you are looking for reliable transportation around the city, or to ride around paths for enjoyment.

That being said, the gmax ultra is not suited for any off-roading. Dirt and pebble roads are a no-go for me, and even some decrepit sidewalks will make you feel jitter.
