Why did you pick this product vs others?:
Love these drier balls. I haven't been a fan of the disposable drier sheets for a long time. (Dislike the scent, and think it's a shame to use a disposable product, when a great one like this is available.) I have tried the plastic balls in the part. The plastic balls end up being very noisy in the drier. These wool drier balls are much quieter! Family peace is important.
Longevity:
They do last a long time. Eventually, they do start getting smaller. I run my drier with a couple older drier balls, and a couple newer balls. Eventually, I'll cycle out the older balls with newer ones.

I was looking to rid myself of toxic detergents & fabric softeners and came across an article touting the reasons one should use wool dryer balls. I ordered a bag in 2020 along with some essential oils. I have never been happier. Still using the originals and have ordered these for my two grown daughters as well. They both love them too. Depending on the size of my laundry load I add a drop or two to half the wool balls and toss them in the dryer. My laundry has never been so soft or smelled so good. Never going back to fabric softeners. You will not regret purchasing these.
Someone posted information about using essential oils in the dryer and or the dryer balls causing the dryer to catch on fire. Are you serious? Using fabric softener and or dryer sheets in the dryer could do the same. One to two drops of essential oil on 3 wool balls? Someone is yanking someone's chain. I've used the same dryer balls for almost 4 years and never an issue.
Also, someone was saying something about developing static cling...You have overdried your clothes. That simple.
2024 update - Ordered a replacement set. Best investment ever.

this is my first time using wool dryer balls so i don't know if this is normal or not, but the balls shed plenty of lint the first time i used them. It did improve on subsequent uses but i can still see wool fibers on my dryer door. i can't tell if they reduce drying time yet.

also they come in a plastic bag. can't you use something better like a paper box?

I usually use dryer sheets, and was reluctant not to throw one In " just in case" I was brave, and found the towels took 2/3 of the time to dry with the balls, were soft and fluffy the only thing missing is the perfume. As the title suggests, I was trying to save a few pounds on drying my clothes, I'd tried a dehumidifier and clothes rack in a warm room, but although the hourly rate of use was lower than a tumble dryer, it took so long that the cost was almost identical.

Then I spotted something on the internet about dryer balls, so I found a reasonable price set on Amazon, and thought " what the hell, if they work, great, if they don't, take up juggling". Well, my juggling is crap and practice will have to wait as the balls do indeed help with the drying process. I'd say it saves about 30-40% on the drying time. Really depends on what you have in the dryer.
