I grow (and give away) a lot of small succulents - I live in a 55+ community, and I think many have found living alone is difficult if you don't have someone to care for. Plants, while not particularly cuddly can be very interesting to watch. I try to find the most unique small succulents there are for a reasonable price and just grow them up a little and give them away to my neighbors. For the extremely rare high-priced ones I do charge what I paid for them. I read up on them and make sure they are healthy and give the new owner a little care sheet.
