    I love this device! I have the Igrill 2 which is built into my Weber grill and it’s Bluetooth only so it loses connection constantly if I’m not nearby. That is now a thing of the past, I can drive down to the grocery store and still monitor my temps. I love how portable it is, I wanted this to be able to use this with my Traeger pellet smoker as well and I just stick it to the side if the pellet hopper with its magnetic base and BAM! Ready to go. I have the Wii-Fire Traeger so I can operate it remotely but the probe it comes with is absolute garbage and has always been way off in temp for me, even after multiple attempts at calibrating it. This setup just like the Igrill 2 is dead on accurate so now I can use it in conjunction with my Traeger app to get my cooks dove remotely if need be. So far battery life seems good, takes awhile to charge but does seem to hold it well. Haven’t used any of the smart recipes yet but they seem like a really cool feature, telling you how to prep, place the probe, grill setup, when to flip, and how long to rest.

    I was wary of buying this at first because of all the bad reviews but I went ahead and tried it anyway and I’m glad I did. I can imagine Weber had a difficult time at launch of this device with COVID and all. Seems like they had a really rocky start with poor software support but it looks like they have it mostly worked out now.

    I made a smoked Tri-Tip that I start low and slow on my Traeger and when it hits 120 I put it on my Weber Genesis II at high heat until it hits 135 to get a perfect medium rare. It’s one of my favorite meals and this device made nailing the temps a snap and it’s so easy to move between grills .

    I have been looking for unit that connects to my network and I found it with the Weber Connect. The unit it self works great and connects to my network with no issues. The Weber app for my iPhone is more like a fancy cookbook. The old iPhone Weber app is far superior as you can select what you are cooking and the app gives you temps to select. The Weber Connect app has a lot of recipes and does have charts to show your temps at least. The app, it seems, assumes everybody is grilling. I use a smoker not a grill. That all being said, it is nice once I have the smoker going I can sit and watch TV and check the temps on the meats and temp of the smoker all the phone at least. If Weber looks at this review, Please update the app to be more like the old Bluetooth device and app!

    I got this after getting a new Weber grill thinking "why not?". It turns out it is a real game changer for grilling. It connects to your phone, and guides you step by step through cooking any type or cut of meat, any level of doneness for steaks, along with a bunch of specific recipes that I haven't tried yet. You just preheat the grill, stick the probe in the meat, put it on the grill, close the lid, and walk away. Then your phone will tell you when it's time to flip it, when it's time to move it to the top rack, when it's done, how long to let it rest, and so on. I am now grilling everything to perfection, every time. Steak, chicken, fish, you name it. Best thing I've bought in a long time.

    You can quickly see from the LONG list of complaints that there are still problems with the Weber Connect Smart Grilling Hub. Here is a summary of what is the status as of August 11, 2020 so you dont have to read all of the reviews:

    WHAT DOESNT WORK:
    1. The ambient probe: It will immediately go to 680' and stay there. This is a known software issue with the unit. This "bug" has been reported for over two months so the promise of a "soon to be released fix" is doubtful.

    2. The battery charge indicator: The unit will only show a max charge of 85% even when it is fully charged. This "bug" has been reported for over two months so the promise of a "soon to be released fix" is doubtful. WHAT

    WORKS BUT HAS ISSUES:
    3. Connecting to WiFi. This works but can take several tries before finally being able to connect. Here are some pointers if you experience issues: You have to manually enter the WiFi networks name and it is case sensitive so make sure you enter this exactly as it is configured. The WiFi only works with 2.4GHz... if you have a 5GHz only WiFi it wont work. Double check to make sure your password is entered correctly. Make sure the hub is charged up and is not on red/low power. You need to first connect to the hub from your smartphone over bluetooth to set it up. Make sure your phone is connected to the same 2.4GHz WiFi network that you plan to use the hub with. Once your hub is connected to the WiFi you can switch your phone back to your 5GHz WiFi if you have both on your router and it should still be able to communicate with your hub (assuming both networks can see each other and one is not a private/guest from the other one).

    WHAT IS "DISAPPOINTING"
    4. The app: The app is a nice app and is being improved with updates, but if you previosuly used the iGrill app you will be disappointed. The Weber Connect app does not have all of the features that the iGrill app has. Hopefully overtime this will improve, but currently if you consider yourself a "serious" or "pro" griller than you may find the lack of some of the trending graphs and settings lacking to your needs.

    RECOMMENDATION
    If you decided to buy this plan to be patient and deal with the frustration of having a product that only delivers a portion of what it promises. Today it is good enough to put probes in your meat and track the temperature so that you know when to flip and remove the meat from the grill. Thats about all it is good for today.

    What an absolute piece of garbage. I already have the igrill2 so I know what I’m doing with these products. Right out of the gate it won’t connect to WIFI which was the reason I bought it. Absolutely unintuitive setup. I only read from reviews after which were recent to this review. The device won’t even notify you if your smoker/grill goes outside a temperature range. Like WTH? The igrill2 can, so why does a newer and “improved” product not do at the very least main functions as the old product?

    Mine was deeply discounted and now I know why.

    The media could not be loaded.
    No funciona, no reconoce la sonda de carne y no hay forma de hacer que funcione. Inckuso gaste en comprar otra sonda nueva y lo mismo, tampoco la reconocio nunca.
