Nice little battery with some nifty features.

Nice little battery with some nifty features.
I have not used this portable power bank much yet, but I did plug my laptop into it. My laptop uses a 180w power supply because it is a gaming laptop. I was able to use it for routine non-gaming tasks for about 3 hours and still had battery left on the power bank. One nice feature is that the power bank will show you how much power is being drawn, in watts, so you can get a feel for how long it my last. UPDATED: I have now had the opportunity to use the battery multiple times. I bought this one over the Jackery models -- which are highly recommended online -- initially due to the fact that this one would arrive in time for an event I planned to use it for and the Jackery would not. It also was more affordable than the Jackery model of similar output, and has more AC ports. Based on its performance and features, I am upgrading my rating to 5 stars. I don't have any complaints about it, but did write to them to offer the following potential improvements: The battery indicator is a typical 5-segment indicator, which is adequate but would be more effective as a percentage. When activating the AC power ports, there is a high-pitched beep that signals that they are now active. I suggest that this would be better as an indicator on the LCD screen And finally, it comes with several power adapters, but nothing to carry them in. Perhaps a carrying case included would be good. However, for the price I paid for it, I still feel like it is a great value and deserves 5 stars.

I like a lot of things about this station and have owned several different types/models but needed to add another one so experimented with this based on price and features. Worked great for a few weeks and then stopped charging properly. I have owned it for less than two months and there is a bad connection internally between the charging cable and the unit. If I twist the connection around I can get a spot where it charges, but it is finicky and doesn't always hold that position and then stops charging. Probably cheap/sloppy construction. My older stations from other manufacturers have never had this issue (they have better connections) so I would not recommend this one.

EDIT (5/6/21) - I was outside my 30 day Amazon return window so contacted the manufacturer about the issue and they promptly got back to me and said they are sending a replacement unit. I'm changing my rating based on the quality customer service and if the new unit works properly, I will change my review again to 4-5 stars.

EDIT (5/12/21) - A replacement unit arrived today and we did some testing. It turns out that the main unit was fine, but the AC power cord was the cause of intermittent power to the unit. That is a much smaller issue. And the seller was very prompt to resolve the issue so right to five stars.

Review update : I wanted to update this review now that I've owned this for a while and it's been used quite a few times. This thing is amazing. I lost power for a few days due to a snow storm. I was able to light up a room with a lamp, charge both mine and my wife's phone a few times, grind coffee beans with an electric coffee grinder, and carry it around when I need a nice big flashlight, and it still had juice left over. This has to be one of the best things I ever bought, and would recommend anyone to purchase even just to keep at home for emergencies.

Original: I initially bought this for a camping trip. I used it to recharge my phone, as well as power up some devices via the AC outlet. It easily lasted the weekend. The screen is amazing. The display is easy to understand, and I love that it tells you your current power draw. It comes with a bunch of cables/adapters. I didn't even realize it also has a built in light before I bought it, but man did it come in handy. It's super bright, and easy to hold and walk around with, as well as just setting it down to provide area light.
I'm extremely happy with this product, and glad I will now have it around the house for emergencies and power outages.

I am giving 1 star because the 300 Wh power rating on the device is misleading. I made the mistake not to test it right after the purchase and was very unpleasantly surprised a month after that when we went camping for several days that the power bank will drain within 2-3 days charging mobile phones and an ipad. Based on a back-of-the-envelope estimate had expected the charge to last through the camping trip. Back home I ran repeated tests with a desk lamp drawing 36W and the bank fully discharges from full charge in approx 5 hrs. This corresponds to approx 180-200 Wh which puts the $/Wh of this power bank in the same range if not worse with other comparable ones . The misleading power rating is very frustrating.

Beyond that, the device is of good quality and the screen which displays power draw is helpful though it stays slightly warm which I would assume corresponds to approx 1-2 Watts power draw in itself and hence can be 25-50 Wh/day which is significant.

Also, the device lacks a protective bag besides the cardboard box it came in and when packed tightly with other luggage for e.g. camping trip, the on button can get pressed and result in the power draw described above.

Overall at 200Wh true capacity, it is nothing special as value and if I had known that I most probably would have gone with a different device.
