UPDATE: Fitbit no longer offers an app for use with Windows on a computer.

In order to use this product, you need to "activate" it by syncing it with the Fitbit app. Beyond that, you will get a lot more data by using it with the app, but you can still see some daily data on the device itself (which clears on its own at the end of the day). Also the app is needed to do some customizing (such as setting what your "active" hours are). ***BEORE PURCHASING, I recommend making sure you have a device (smartphone or tablet) that will work with the app, which is a free download. IF YOU CANNOT DOWNLOAD THE APP TO ONE OF YOUR DEVICES, THIS PRODUCT WON'T WORK! Please note that the apps available may not be compatible with an older smartphone or tablet (and older may mean only a couple of years).

In addition to the app, there is a dashboard available by logging into the Fitbit website. I can't speak to the smartphone app, but regarding the Windows app, you'll get different views of your data on the website as compared to the app (for example, the website will show you # of steps by five-minute increments throughout the day, but the app just gives you steps for the whole day and also which of your "active" hours had at least 250 steps). On both the website and app you can see your historical data.

**UPDATE: Fitbit no longer allows you to download an app for use with Windows on a computer, however this info may be helpful if you downloaded the app before they discontinued it. VERY IMPORTANT: If you are only planning to sync with a computer, you need to buy a separate FITBIT WIRELESS SYNC DONGLE. You also need to make sure your computer has BLUETOOTH capabilities and that they are turned on (if not, I believe there may be a separate dongle you can purchase for Bluetooth). The sync dongle allows your Fitbit to transfer data to your computer and you must sync at least once for the product to work. The syncing occurs with the app open (not to be confused with the website dashboard). It should happen automatically, but can be manually prompted if necessary.

The product itself arrives with only a miniscule amount of instructions. The full user manual is on their website, and an internet search will find any number of other websites with helpful instructions for doing things the manual doesn't cover well or at all (that's how I learned about the required dongle).

I don't have experience with other fitness trackers for comparison. This works well enough for my needs--I got it for a wellness program at work and the data can be synced directly to that wellness program's website. I don't think the step counter is 100% accurate. I am pretty sure it undercounts, but even if it is 90% accurate, that is good enough for my purposes. I haven't tried out the sleep tracking features yet, so can't comment on those.

I find the manual to be lacking and wish it had been more clear at the time of purchase or even with the product in hand that the dongle was needed to use it with a computer. (I guess they think we are all supposed to be privileged enough to own brand new smartphones.)

I have a very small wrist and the smallest wristband attachment worked for me--you'll want to wear it three fingers above your wrist bone. I often wear it clipped to my waistband instead (separate purchase to get the clips), which seems to work as well for step counting, although the vibration reminder to move is subtle and hard to feel when wearing this way. Taking the wrist straps on and off does require decent manual dexterity.

I absolutely love this and don't know how I managed without it! It has taught me so many things about my basic health and areas I need to address, which are not what I originally assumed. It's all in the data and you no longer have to guess at what the issues are. I thought I was getting it for step counts, then it showed me I usually get plenty of exercise and steps. My real issue was sleep! That said, the heart rate monitor does motivate me to exercise harder to get into my cardio zone and I'm now running up hills and staying in cardio on my walks.

The band: very comfortable. I never have an issue with it.

The screen: You get what you pay for! In this case, it's a lower-end Fitbit so the screen is not fancy but it is functional. Images and resolution are clear.

Watch app integration: OK, this could be improved. I never use most of what's on the watch but I do check my home screen often. I also tend to use the timer and the alarm. BUT you can't set the alarm on the watch. You have to do it on your phone, which defeats the purpose!

Buzzers and notifications: The watch arrived with all settings and external notifications OFF. You actually have to set notifications and sync externals with your Fitbit. If you don't do this, then guess what? You'll never be bothered. It is possible that a slight (very slight) minority of the reviews complaining about this feature are legit issues. But the large majority of them are clearly user error. I almost didn't purchase this because of them but I'm glad I did.

Charge: The 7-day charge was an important feature for me. I do basically charge it every 6-7 days. It's about 6 weeks old now and sometimes the battery runs low before the 7-day period, so I'm wondering what's going on.

This is an excellent introductory device for health monitoring if you just want to check it out before spending a bunch of money. That was me. Or if you simply want a streamlined solution or are on a budget.

The battery life has been incredible, although I haven't used it to track a specific workout yet. I'm on day 3 of using it and I'm still at over 80% battery! I would definitely recommend the Inspire 2 if you're looking for a Fitbit without many bells and whistles; I mostly wanted something to keep track of my sleep, heart rate, and steps through the day, and this thing does just that. No complaints so far! Will update if something changes.

Der Tracker ist wasserdicht - man braucht also keine Angst haben, dass man ihn vor dem Duschen oder Schwimmen abzulegen vergisst.
Ich habe auch nach einem schmalen Tracker gesucht, da mir die meisten vieeeel zu groß und breit sind, er liegt sehr bequem am Arm - ich habe mir auch einen anderen Band bestellt - das ist auch der nächsten großen Vorteil, dass man sich beliebig viele Armbänder bestellen kann, die auch sehr schnell und unproblematisch ausgetauscht werden können.
Die App zeigt viele Details, hat gute Schlafanalyse und ist übersichtlich.
Am Anfang hatte ich nur Probleme mit der Herzfrequenzmessung, die nicht funktionierte. Ich habe alles mögliche ausprobiert was in der Hilfe beschrieben wurde, leider erfolglos. Ich dachte schon, dass ich vielleicht einen defekten Exemplar bekam und habe diesbezüglich den Fitbit-Kundenservice angeschrieben. Es wurde mir schnell geholfen und jetzt läuft es wie geschmiert. Hier also kleine Anmerkung: damals waren nicht alle Probleme von diesem Modell bei der Hilfe beschrieben, es kann aber sein, dass sie inzwischen ergänzt wurde, da ich den Tracker im Vorverkauf bestellt habe und einfach eine der ersten Kunden war.
Gewöhnungsbedürftig ist die Anzeige von Mahlzeiten und verbrannten Kalorien - da hier eine fortlaufende Prognose gemacht wird, ob man bis Ende des Tages bereits unter oder drüber dem Kalorienbudget liegt und es wird als ein Tacho dargestellt - diese Analyse kann man aber auschalten.
Fazit: Fitbit Inspire 2 ist Klasse und ich kann ihn mit reinem Gewissen empfehlen!
