Amazing gazebo for the price - five years in. I just wish they would sell replacement canopies

Amazing gazebo for the price - five years in. I just wish they would sell replacement canopies
I'm so glad we purchased this gazebo back in 2019 and HIGHLY recommend it! Each year we set it up in the spring and then take it down in the fall. Now that we've done this a few times I can set it up by myself in about 75 minutes and take it down in about 30 minutes. I love that it has both the screen and the regular solid canopy so that if mosquitos are bad we can keep just the screens closed. The size (10' x 10') is perfect size for the sectional outdoor patio couch (4 seats wide). Big tips you should do the first time you set it up: 1) Use scotch guard to "seal" the canopy roof so rain won't leak through (we've never had this issue as we learned from other reviews and from using scotch guard on our camping tents. We re-apply scotch guard every year to be on the safe side. 2) Figure out where rain water will pool on the canopy roof and use clamps in those areas. Other reviews go over how to do this. We use about 6 clamps which are barely noticeable if set up right. We waited for our first rain and then watched the gazebo to see where water would pool, and it pooled in 3 spots, so we have 2 clamps in each of those spots. It would be awesome if the company figured out a way to improve on this and prevent the possible damage from rain pooling or needing to use clamps. 3) Have a second person help you set up the 4 corner posts. I usually do it myself, but I had to use cinderblocks to hold things in place. It's much easier with a second person (probably even easier with 4 people as the instructions mention). The ONLY complaint I have: they do not sell just the canopy. My original canopy set lasted about 3 seasons before it looked too bad from age/wear so I had to buy a replacement from a separate company, and that's even with only using it for 6 months and then taking it down and storing it inside our home for the winter. Fortunately, they are easy to find in this size, but still an annoyance. It's crazy that after 6+ years the company that makes these still doesn't sell just the canopy's. If I owned this company it would be one of the first things I would do (pssst, if you ever want to sell the part of your company that makes these, please get in contact with me). I'm still giving this 5 stars because I think the frame will last at least 20 years, but we'll likely have to replace the canopy every 3-5 years unless our replacement is of better quality than the one that comes with it and lasted 3 years. (hint, hint, MAKE THE CANOPY's AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE as well as spare parts!!) I love it so much that I just purchased a second one the other day because I want to make sure we have one in storage to use 15-25 years from now when we finally have to replace the original.

It bleached out big time so the top is a white ish amber yellow. We put it in our shed and quite a few places the canvas has holes in it now. My advice would be to just leave it up or completely remove the canvas and neatly fold it up somewhere nice. Don’t know if some of the wholes are due to frame parts or voles. The curtains are in pristine shape. One of the thin flat metal braces at the corner of a leg and the curtain frame bent last summer after the wind picked it up and moved the whole freakin thing about a foot. We now have just yesterday got it out of the shed and our 4 older 20+ yr old kids put it together for us, back out on the back patio where it was last summer. It does provide some nice shade and the breeze out here is usually pretty brisk, so it’s nice. The curtains being able to slide like curtains on a rod pocket and then able to zip closed is cool. The not-so nice thing is there’s nothing to keep them from blowing in at the bottom. I put lawn chairs in front of the sides that were blowing in. We got around the frame being moved by putting a couple pavers at the base of each leg, so you wouldn’t have to pay for fancy weights. When it rains the canvas holds a ton of water and you have to take a broom handle and lift them up to empty them but stand back, or you’ll get a cold bath. That’s just the nature of the beast. Maybe some sort of siding under the edges would be nice to support and form a slide for the rain to roll off instead of pooling. The canvas did seem not to leak last year. We could sit under it when it was raining, and it does tend to pour at times here.
I bought this June 26, 2019. I paid $450+ for this thing. They do have others available according to Amazon. I JUST got off phone June 2, at 11:15 AM, and they don’t sell replacement parts and don’t even have my order number, name or zip code in their system. I didn’t want a replacement canvas for free. I would have purchased it. I’ve bought some Christoper Knight stuff before, but I won’t any more. Lady on phone was totally nice, but had to wait over 20 min til she answered. I’m sad and extremely disappointed and think you would be better off researching a local company that would stand behind their product with replacement parts. I would give it zero stars but they would refuse to post my review. Lesson learned spending so much money on this. We got married under it with my parents sitting under it, my son playing piano from in the house, my daughter and her brand new baby, my first grandchild, and her husband officiating and my husband’s family all surrounding us. Good thing I have pictures. it eventually blew over and luckily did not damage the neighbor’s property. Bent up. Had to throw it away. Better off getting it bolted to the patio.

I don't usually do reviews, but this gazebo is so worth the money I had to write one!! We just hit the two year mark of having it, and it is still going strong! The curtains are just now starting to show some minor wear and tear. We had a brutal windy spell this Spring, torrential rain for weeks, and it withstood everything mother nature threw at us. The zippers still work fine and the frame is solid as a rock. We screwed it into our wooden deck, and it is so sturdy we are considering using it as a frame for an enclosed room. It was surprisingly easy to put together, as long as you read the directions and make sure the pieces are going the right direction. Oops. Even with a mishap during assembly, my fiancé and I put it up in just a couple hours. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!
