    I am very pleased with my switch from cable to Roku. I have the equipment for the living room and also purchased a Roku TV for the bedroom. The ability to use either tv is super easy. Also the add on channels I have added give me all the stations I am use to plus more at a lower price than cable.

      Roku is a great cost effective entertainment option I have a Roku tv as well but my older flat screen was kinda just there. Local tv  antenna tv doesn’t come in well where I live so WiFi is a great choice streaming services are great but costly Roku offers great entertainment at no cost unless you choose to upgrade. This device allows you to upgrade your regular flat screen to a smart tv installation takes a few  minutes plug it in there is only one cord to plug in to your television power on the device and your television  install the Roku app on your phone if you don’t have it and sink you Roku device to your tv and your done streaming tv shows and great movies if you have streaming services like Netflix max paramount ext you can add those apps as well. The tv I had was a Sanyo and over 10 years old and it worked no problem. Highly recommended this device and Roku televisions

      They were trying to use a laptop HDMI output to cast Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, etc. to their TV. Imagine hassles every time you want to use the laptop as a laptop. Hassles every so often because it won't connect to the TV. Hassles every so often because the laptop has internet connectivity issues, hassles because cables go bad being moved around frequently. And no remote control. Want to change anything besides the volume? Get up and mess with the laptop.

      Oh dear...

      This Roku connects to everything they were doing with the laptop, and has various other live streaming options as well. Apps for everything.

      It's TINY. It sticks to the top of their TV. It has a REMOTE (!!!!!) that works great, doesn't even have to be pointed in the right direction.

      It's been a few months, but from what I can recall the installation was straightforward. Mostly just plug in, configure WIFI, create an account, login, good to go.

      Well, I’m late to the world of Roku had no idea what it was bought a small Roku TV for our RV because it was a really good price and just fell in love with it now we’re home and I’ve bought the Roku plug-in devices to add to both of my TVs at home it’s a great little gadget so easy to use. There’s no learning curve. You just plug it in. Turn it on. Click on your HMDI port and you’ve got everything at your finger tips.
      Depending on the kind of TV, you have depends on how difficult it is to get to your streaming apps we have an LG that makes it difficult to pick the app you want takes a really long time probably three or four minutes before you actually can get to the movie you wanna watch so this Roku thing is wonderful We really like it so simple and so easy. I would recommend anybody out there if you’re on the border of buying it or not get it. It’s very reasonably priced oh and I do want to mention we have three fire sticks not so easy to operate. Roku also has a microphone button Works like a charm. I never could get the one on the fire stick to work no matter what I ask it or what I said or how long I held the button down never never so needless to say most of those are just in a drawer. There’s no lag. It’s just a wonderful operating tool for TV simplifies everything And so far although we haven’t had it very long. That’s very reliable. I would buy it again if I have any more TVs, I’m going to buy the Roku brand cause then you don’t have to add anything.

      I've used other steaming devices and sticks, and it wasn't until I tried the Roku that I was sold! I ended up buying a couple more for family members and another house. The portability aspect of it is awesome.
      What I REALLY like about it is the snappy performance! Not sure why bit the other streaming devices that I have used, and same goes for my smart TV, they were all glitchy, laggy and often froze up requiring restarts. Ugh.

      I would have easily given this 5 stars, but the frustrating part is the non-lighted (back lit keys) remote!!!!!!!!!! Dumb. Fail. I ended up purchasing separate backlighted remotes but almost at a cost of what paid for the Roku to begin with.

      PLEASE provide back-lit remotes standard. No brainer.

      The set up process is super quick & easy. I find Roku to be pretty user-friendly overall. Also I must say, I love the updated remote design. It is similar to the older Roku models, but has several new functions. It allows you to adjust the volume, mute the tv, speak into the remote, and turn off the tv which is not available on some of the older Roku models. FYI, the streaming player box gets a bit hot, not sure if that’s normal.

      As in the title, my husband and I are older and missed the boat on new electronics, etc.  On the advice of a technical friend, he recommended we replace some of our boxes with Roku.  He promised to help if we ran into any difficulty.  Well, we did and he got the devices up and running for us and they are functioning beautifully.  I’m sure that most people would not encounter any difficulty installing them if they have the slightest tech abilities.

      I dumped cable TV and went Roku about a year ago. I had a older smart TV and hadn't used and put it in the guest room. I wanted to get a Roku for it and it was so easy to install and set up. Once I paired with the wifi it paired up with my other TV apps. Very reasonably priced. For those who want to ditch cable do it!
