I've been using "buzz" (non-rotary) shavers for decades now. I've tried Braun and Remington. I've had my old Remington F5800 for almost 10 years, and have replaced the foil and cutters many times, using only genuine Remington replacement parts. I typically shave every day and my beard is not very full (although it seems to grow quickly). Recently I felt that my Remington shaver was not dong a very good job on my beard, so I started to shop for a replacement. I looked at Remington and Norelco shavers, but I read on a shaver review site that the "buzz" shavers (generally) shave closer than a rotary shaver. That same site recommended Panasonic shavers over Remington shavers. So after some searching on Amazon, I bought this Panasonic ARC3 Electric Razor.
The item came nicely packaged and came with an AC charger, a small cleaner brush, and a small bottle of cutting oil. I charged the shaver for an hour (per the directions) and then unplugged the charger to use the razor in cordless mode (because you can't use the razor while it is charging).
Wow I'm impressed! This Panasonic is quieter and smoother than my Remington ever was, and it shaves more easily and closer too! The shaving head of the Panasonic has multiple degrees of articulation (it hinges in multiple directions) and is very comfortable to hold. It has a built-in thumb rest and includes a clear plastic cover to help protect blades in the shaver head. And no razor burn on my face either.

Super Quiet, Super Long Battery
It's simple. I'm impressed. It shaves as well as any electric shaver I've had but it's MUCH quieter. I finally replaced an 18-year-old Panasonic ES88092 with this Panasonic ARC3. Both have similar blades, foils, pivoting head and hair trimmer. This one is whisper quiet, which is important when it comes right up next to your ear. The hair trimmer on this is exceptional; it really cuts hair easily. The battery is insanely good. I've shaved once a day for 12 days without recharging and it still has 60% battery life according to the display.

I bought this Panasonic ARC3 last summer to replace my trusty old Panasonic ES-LA63 that had it's rechargeable battery finally die after many years of use. At first I thought this new one felt a lot cheaper made (more plasticy and not as heavy in the hand) and did not feel like it shaved quite as well, but it has gotten the job done sufficiently since purchasing.
I'm a big hockey fan and when my team is in the playoffs, I don't shave and let the beard and mustache grow as a way to root on my team. My team was eliminated yesterday so it was time to shave off all the facial hair. My last Panasonic was always a pain to do this and would snag the facial hair and only get it down so far so I just went to a barber last year. This year, I just wanted it off ASAP so I figured I'd try the new Panasonic that had been sitting in the drawer unused for the past month. Just one pass with the straight blade portion and 80% of the facial hair was gone, I was shocked. A few more passes with the straight blade and then the foil and I didn't even need to do a regular razor shave afterwards. This definitely gave me new respect for this Panasonic ARC3.
