So much fun!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this hoverboard for my sons 12th birthday and it was a huge hit! He absolutely loves riding around on it. He was nervous at first but he got the hang of it very quickly. Everyone had a great time with it. It's very sturdy and well built. It also holds a good amount of weight. My husband, who wieghs 230lbs, was able to ride it with ease. It was also very easy to connect to the bluetooth. I love that this hoverboard gives a very smooth ride. It can get up to 9mph, but you have to build up to that speed. I was able to get it to around 6mph. It also goes over small bumps easily. It does take a long time to charge and shouldn't be left on the charger longer than 5 hours. Overall, I'm very happy with it. My son was thrilled with it and rides it everywhere now.

Cool easy to use Hover board
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really cool Hover board. I was skeptical with a hover board. 2 years ago in bought 1 for my kid and we all could not stand on it. It was super hard to balance. This hover board was the opposite. After 2 tries I was up and running. Let's get to the fun part in a bit. So setup was a snap. Initial charge took about 4 hours before light went green. Android app was pretty easy. Make sure you use the QRcode. I did not the first time and I got a different program that did not recognize the board. Bluetooth linked easy. So now the fun part. After practicing in my driveway for a bit I took to the streets. This thing hauls pretty fast. Nice lights. All different colors which helps with visibility. This is a plus. Now add Bluetooth music and now you are all rocking out. Sensitivity and controls are nice and easy to use. Hey I am in my 40s and I can ride it. So that gives you a huge to ability. My 9nyear old took to it pretty quick too. The app is neat and shows how fast you are going. I have been using for about 1 week and I the battery is still off of first charge. So I would imagine that this would last for about 5 to 6 days of light/medium use. So here is the cons: Bumps in pavement and sidewalks will cause issues and potentially make you fall. Going down driveways and sidewalk ramps I could not do. I ended up having to jump off the board. Inclines the board will go down automatically and you need to catch it. This is the big one. Getting off of it takes practice. My kid ate it right in front of me. I could not react in time to catch him so he landed on his hip and got a little hurt but was fine after he walked it off. Other than that if you can balance and control it you will have fun and get a kick out of this board. I would recommend this product.

Fun Ride for all age groups with little practice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hover-1 Ranger Plus Electric self-balancing scooter is a mid-end level model that features a powerful 500W motor and support 264 pounds weight. It has max speed of up to 9mph and has flashy led color integrated lights on the wheels. What’s in the box: Hover 1 Ranger plus scooter, Ac adapter, User Manual. Pros: Built in Bluetooth speaker are good Self-balancing with 6.5” wheels Max speed of 9mph and max distance of 9 miles Able to control with mobile app Color changing LED lights on deck and wheels 3 different mode selection on mobile app (Eco, Comfort & Sport) Battery indicator with percentage on the mobile app Cons: No option to turn off the LED lights in app Mobile app is buggy and had to pair multiple times Uses a proprietary charging connector Setup is fairy easily. Just charge the battery for few hours (took around 1.5 hours from the factory charge) until the wall adapter led turns green from red for fully charged. Turn on the power button and you can start operating if you already have experience in riding hoverboard. But for my kids and me, this is the first hoverboard and it took 15 minutes to get the hang of it with balancing. Once you get the hang of the balancing and how to operate its so much fun. This model has 3 modes, and it can be adjusted on the mobile app. App has the following features. Ride, Lock, Functions, and settings. When the ride button is clicked it shows the speed in mph and has option to change the modes. Function button has the power on and off. In settings, you can edit the device name to your choice, see the full device information like Mac id, Time Zone, update firmware or software. App is little buggy and drops connection with iPhone sometime. Sound quality is okay but not great and plays music through Bluetooth. My daughter really enjoys playing her favorite music when riding. She mastered riding just by practicing 30 minutes for the first time and never had any accidents. Color changing lights are fun but there is no option to turn off. It would be great if there is an option to change the light setting to just one color or turn off completely to save battery life. Overall, this is such a fun to ride that my entire family started using it. Its easy to use and learn quickly and highly recommend.

A board that can handle the hills
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was surprisingly impressed with the Hover-1 Ranger board and its ability to navigate the challenges of hills and various terrain. In the box are the board and AC wall charger as well as instructions. Out of the box, you'll need to charge the board fully, as indicated by the red/green light on the charger. One of the more important features is the specially designed plug to charge the board. This eliminates the ability to mix and match plugs, but also eliminates incorrect charging cables leading to fire hazards. After charging and installing companion app, I took it out for a test ride while one of my teens took out our 'off road' hoverboard to see how they compared. I am happy to report, that other than some traction issues in the grass, this 20 lb board kept up with the off road 32 lb board in both speed and ability to navigate hills. As far as set up, I found the Bluetooth pairing to be easy, allowing me to stream audio from my Android and control the board mode. There are three riding modes in the app - eco, comfort, and sport. I'm not sure there is a noticeable difference in modes other than sport doesn't beep when you hit max speed, potentially these features are more obvious on level ground. The app will also track your ride via map as well as speed. The audio is decent, and loud enough to be heard 10+ feet away or by others riding with you. The overall quality of the materials is as expected, these boards take a lot of abuse on the farm, and while there were scuffs from uneven concrete, the plastics on the board have held up to a few weeks of daily abuse without any material damage. The foot pads have ridges, allowing just the right amount of traction to keep your feet in place, but not so much that it's hard to shift positions as needed. The wheel lights are interesting, as I never found a way to change the light mode, so the left wheel stayed red, while the right wheel would cycle through various colors. Not something I was particularly concerned with, but would have liked to see the ability to change the light mode via the app. The learning curve to be able to ride a hoverboard is all about balance and subtle movements, my teen was a pro within the first 30 minutes, whereas I took a few rides to get really good with it. Important things to note, the wheels are 6.5" meaning there isn't too much clearance for uneven terrain. To see how versatile the board is, I tried it in both grass and gravel, but the smooth wheels didn't provide much traction and found that anything off the asphalt or concrete was limited and would eventually lose traction or bog down and stop moving. On the asphalt I had no issues, although navigating cracks, gravel, or other debris I had to be cautious with running over as it impacted my balance. The max slope on our driveway is 12 degrees, and I have no issues with it moving either myself (150 lbs) or my teens at a comfortable speed up/down the hill. The only reason I took off a star for the rating is due to a lack of automatic braking, this means if you step off or lose your balance while on a hill, you need to be prepared to chase it down. On the flat it will roll slightly when stepping off, but not nearly as bad as trying to catch it on the hills. Otherwise, a great first board!

Great hover board for casual riding!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hover-1 Ranger Plus!!! Not quite a scooter, not quite a true "hover" device, but what it is, is quite amazing :) Setting up via the app was pretty straight forward and took me around 10-15 minutes. Getting used to the balance is probably what will take longer as this is the first hover board I've ever owned. After about 25 minutes, i felt comfortable enough to ride it casually. This Ranger Plus can support heavy set adults up to 265 pounds, confirmed with my brother who weighs roughly 230. Traversing through terrains of various inclines and patchiness, this little board does not struggle. The 500W motor definitely is capable and makes for casual strolls even more satisfying. One thing to note is that bumpy terrain, speed bumps, etc., will be pretty hard to maneuver through, so its best to avoid such terrain (at least from my experience). The best feature of the Ranger Plus is definitely the built in Bluetooth speakers. If you are just riding around and want to bump up some tunes, this thing will definitely spice up your stroll. Though the clarity of the speakers aren't top notch (pointing to you audiophiles out there), but you can still get a decent amount of soundstage to comfortably hear even when riding at 9MPH. If you want more clarity than this thing can provide, you'll probably want to ride around with Bluetooth headsets :P The lights on this thing aren't my style as I could care less about being flashy, but man oh man are they bright. Definitely a good thing if you are strolling towards the evening, you'll be able to see bumpy terrain coming up if you aren't going full throttle. Battery life on this is very good. My brother lives down the road from me about 1.25 miles and I was able to go back and forth three times before needing to recharge. Color me impressed :) Overall, I would definitely recommend this Ranger Plus for anyone that is looking for a fun device that'll get you around.

Adult friendly scooter
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As soon I saw the specs on this scooter, I knew I wanted it. Finally, a scooter that is rated to handle most adults - including me, but still looks cool and is a reasonable price. Pros - Set up and charging were easy. No problem linking it to my phone for Bluetooth audio or the app. - Cool design with bright LED lights. The color changing lights in the wheels have a nice effect and are eye catching. - Useful indicator LEDs for board and battery status. - The higher weight rating allows it to handle up to 264lbs. I am 225lbs and it had plenty of power. - Easy to control (once you get the hang of it) with 3 sensitivity settings to match your skill. - Built in Bluetooth speaker with decent volume. - Links to an app that allows you to see distance traveled, battery level, speed, and change the input sensitivity. - Good battery capacity and range. It has a max range of 9 miles, but it varies with weight and the riding surface - I managed around 5 miles around my neighborhood. - Tire size and power made it much easier to ride on the street than my kids hover scooter. It had no problem with small hills or expansion joints in the road (as long as you maintain speed). Things to Consider - The manual recommends charging before the first use, which took about 3.5hrs. It also warns against charging over 5hrs so I made sure to set a timer on my phone. - On my first ride I had some control issues when turning and staying still when stopped. I followed the calibration instructions, and this corrected the issues. - App functions are basic compared to my kid's hover scooter which allowed a lot of configuration and could even display sensor data. On my Android phone I had to configure the Bluetooth audio separately to play music. - After one ride on the street the yellow foot pads started to look dingy, but they did clean up pretty well with a damp paper towel.
