A Quality Product - Useful for Self Protection
The VIPERTEK Stun Gun VTS-989 is a quality built product. It fits well in the hand and the lanyard is useful to aid in retention. The three position switch allows for safe transport and carry in the default or power off position. It can be quickly switched on to power the LED flashlight, or in the top position, it powers on the Stun Gun and makes it ready for use. The opposing red switch on the other side is at the ready if you need to make use of the stun gun feature. It's easily accessible and spring loaded to return to the off position automatically. Poorly designed Chinese junk.
Poor design and made in China. Feels and looks cheap. The included holster is flimsy and difficult to draw stun gun out of. Stun gun requires sliding a three position switch to the correct position before use then you can press the switch to activate. Certainly not a quick or intuitive process. Situation will be over before you ever get this thing out and ready to use. The handle is poorly designed and allows your hand to easily slip into the wrong position and even might allow you to deliver a shock to yourself when trying to use it. I have never used this item as intended but it seems like a well made product. Good ergonomics (a comfortable grip with easy access to the safety and trigger) with a flashlight that works quite well. I’ve owned this exact stun gun before and this one feels super cheap. The logo stickers are coming off of the product because they were poorly placed/made.
