I opened this from the side to pull out the tray immediately after receiving it. I have a 4 yo so attention span is limited, we can’t be trying to spend 10 mins getting these out when we officially open it.Even though I have to do some prep I would definately buy this again.Prep work I did:1. Cut all small plastic ties there are quite a few and some are hard to notice from the front.2. Popped all figures out3. Put the figures back and identified the difficult onesI have not finished this part so no pics yet.4. figures like Mario and princess peach are getting ribbon wrapped around their waist with some left hanging out so little one can grab it and pop them out5. Some can’t be tied with ribbon like the coins or blocks; so I plan to use tape.     Bought for my 10 year old, we get him an advent calendar every year. Often we are disappointed by quality, lack of variety, or an over abundance of non-character pieces. He’s opened about half now and has received a character about every other day and the non-character pieces are game related (power up block, etc).
    The box and the pieces are high quality. Not flimsy cardboard and half-painted plastic.
    One word of caution: some of the pieces are VERY hard to get out of the box! Most have a plastic band securing them, and we still need to use a knife to pop the pieces out.
