    TLDR: Good entry-level webcam, except for the lifespan. Lighting, focus, and software can be dubious, but is worth it if the cam doesn't die on you. I bought this in 2021 for around $87 and got good use out of it. Until recently when it inexplicably died, I would have rated this 4 stars, and here's why- I used it extensively for years, and got good video quality, good frames, and easy setup. I used it extensively for things ranging from streaming to work meetings, and rarely had problems. There were occasional issues with the hardware, but an unplug and replug typically fixed it. The downsides were lighting, focus, and software. For lighting, I might not know much about cameras. However, it responded heavily to lighting and often made me look too dark, my face too bright from my own computer monitors, or just otherwise strange to look at. I compare this with the camera on an inexpensive work laptop I use, whose lighting is superior despite being a little monitor cam. The focus would consistently shift if I moved only slightly, which is distracting during meetings and for viewers during a stream. It was working too hard to keep me in focus. The software was terrible. I'm mixing up the software names, but you're recommended to install two pieces of software, which I believe are Razer Synapse and Razer Cortex. One of them was just bloatware. telling me info my graphics card software and task manager could easily tell me, while taking up CPU/Ram power, while popping up at obnoxious times to give me unhelpful information. The other is camera software, which can be nice if you want to play with the settings, but out of the box works as well as I expect it possibly can. For the price point, which was $87 when I purchased, I would say it was overall four stars and a solid deal. Now, for $53, I'd almost be convinced to buy it for an entry-level computer webcam. However, many other reviews are talking about shorter lifespans than mine, and it seems like these cameras are being made even more cheaply and not-lasting. For almost $100, I expected my camera to last longer, but use of the light shortens the life span in my experience.

      I bought a Kiyo in early 2022 and it died in early 2025. It had light use of less than two hours a week on average, with some weeks having heavy use and most having light use. The image quality was fairly good and minimal problems along the way. While the ring light has a good dimmer, I wish the lowest setting was dimmer still.
      Overall it was good while it lasted but I'd have hoped for a longer life for what was a fairly good webcam at time of purchase. I'd say its better value if you want image quality over reliability.

      I didn't realize how bad my old camera was until I picked this one up. The ring light brightness adjusts so easily with the physical knob on the camera, and any other adjustments you want you can do in the Razer app. I love the auto focus, so it stays clear.

      I find it hilarious how most electronics seem to stop working almost immediately after they are out of warranty. Razer is no exception. The camera itself is awesome when it's working, but from my experience and research this particular camera has a very short shelf life. I haven't used it more than a couple hours of total use, and right before the warranty expired it just died. It happened once during a meeting, and then it finally bit the dust shortly thereafter. The camera had no video, the ring light would barely come on and it would flicker, and it would make these electronic whining noises when flickering. I was able to get it replaced before the warranty expired, but that process was a complete nightmare. It's extremely difficult to navigate their warranty claim process through their website and there's no phone number to call for help. Fast forward 3 months and the "replacement" camera died yet again after just a few short uses, except now it's out of warranty so it's just a piece of junk. This camera is a complete ripoff and massive headache. I will be adding Razer to my list of brands to never buy from, right next to MSI. Don't buy this camera!
