Good Value.

Good Value.
This chair is very nice for the cost. We got the mesh back because it cost a lot less and we don't really lean back often when sitting at our desk anyways. When we do we find the mesh comfortable. This chair IS NOT too tall. Desks are too tall. When properly ergonomically adjusted, your feet may not reach the ground. That is why they sell so many foot rests like this one "https://www.amazon.com/Mind-Reader-Adjustable-Height-Ergonomic/dp/B01MSQDE0U/". I use something like it myself. After 5 months the arm rests came loose. It was an easy fix with just a phillips screwdriver. You remove the six screws from the bottom side of the arm rest pad and the top comes off. Then you can tighten the two screws inside. (circled in red in 1st photo)The armrests are made to adjust in and out as well as up and down. I keep them all the way in and every time I got up they would slide back out. So when I took it apart to tighten the screws, I stuck spacers (blue in 2nd photo) in them (pieces of a kids flat wooden ruler) to make them stop moving. We are planning on buying a second one.

No one should be surprised if a chair ordered online does not perfectly fit their body as some reviewers complain (and therefore I discount those reviews). After all, chairs should be tried in a physical store. Grounded by COVID-19, I didn't have a choice when replacing my old and too-soft fabric chair. With lots of time on my hands, I spent hours researching task chairs for long computer work.

With lower back issues, an adjustable lumbar support was essential, along with height and width adjustable arm rests. I am 6'1", so a gliding seat that could be moved forward to support my legs was also important. I also wanted a chair where the seat could be adjusted higher than 19". At my height, a standard chair can put my arms too far below my below-desk mounted keyboard tray. I also know that the firmness of a new chair will change over time with use. A new soft cushion would only get softer and more uncomfortable.

I gravitated to the Hon brand because it is a well-established company that has sold office furniture for decades. I was also reluctant to buy a no-name brand chair from an unknown third party seller.

This chair fits the bill. With an adjustable lumbar support, gliding seat, adjustable height and width arms, full swivel, and adjustable back tilt, it's a bargain at this price. The build quality is very high and it was easy to assemble. I think it's particularly good for taller people who want adjustments to get more leg support and seat height than usual. And yes, the fabric seat is firm out of the box but I actually think that this contributes to long-term comfort like high-end car seats do. I'm confident it will soften a bit over time. Another option would be the leather seat, but I can't speak to how it would feel.

Yes, you can get a better chair for a lot more money, but I think the Hon Exposure is a great combination of price, quality and flexibility.

It's a nice chair, no problems assembling, I'm happy with the quality. I wish it had a seat tip function, but I guess you get what you pay for. The cushion is hard, but it softens over time once you break it in. I have no problem with it, after a few days I found it to be quite comfortable. I would agree that the lumbar support is weak, but I can feel it when I lean back.
Surprisingly it is a large chair. I am 6' tall and it barely fits me. When I have the chair as low as it can go, my feet are just a little off the floor; it barely works for me at the lowest setting. I do wish it went just a little lower. When I have the chair as high as it can go my feet are about 4"-5" off the floor. I think it's fun since I usually have to adjust any office chair to it's highest setting to fit my needs; this chair only works for me at the lowest setting. I don't know who the highest setting would work for unless you were a giant! Perhaps if I had a small stool for my feet i could use this as a drafting chair ;)

After researching chairs for two days I decided on this chair to replace my 10yr old Hon mid-back that still looks good. I had originally wanted to stay in the $150 range, but after reading the good, the bad and the ugly on all the other ones, none of them really stood out but this one.

I am 6-01 and 210# and work at home at a computer desk 10-hours a day, and love to put my feet up and recline. The seat on my old chair was fixed, had no support and created lower back stress that no pillow could fix.

Upon arrival and assembly I was very pleased with the looks, quality and build of this chair. Assembly was easy with the included hex wrench. The materials are excellent, seat is firm and I am sure it won't wear or bottom out. The mesh back is heavy duty and feels cool while sitting. With all the adjustments it can be set up to accommodate most people. (Seat moves front-back, lumbar up-down, raises very high, 2:1 seat reclines with back, arm rests up-down & in-out)

The arm rests are wide, flat topped and rubber padded, making a great place to rest the corner of my keyboard. BUT, here is where the problem is, while reclining the arm rests are too far forward to work comfortably. Sooo, I took them back off and swapped them, R to L, L to R so they are angled backwards and reassembled. PERFECT position for reclining! You have to adjust them to the widest setting so they don't hit the back when it's upright, and they still touch ever so slightly, but I don't expect any wear. Additional benefits are that I can push the chair further under the desk when not in use, and play the guitar without the arms getting in the way!

Spend the extra $50 and get a chair that will last another decade and feel good.

I have the chair with the leather cushion and mesh back. The back support is really awful. The plastic frame just bends so much that even when the back is "locked" in the upright position, you lean back so far at the slightest pressure. One of the reasons I bought this chair was for the sliding seat adjustment because I have long legs. Sliding the seat away from the back at all just makes the poor back support even worse. Don't even try to unlock the back - you'll fall over backwards.

The lumbar adjustment support is awful too. It feels very hard and there's no way to lock it in place so it quickly moves down after any adjustment.

On the plus side, I like the metal chair base and the seat cushion is comfortable. I would not recommend the leather though - it doesn't breathe, so it gets kinda hot.

Another thing I've noticed is that my arm rests are not even with each other. I wish they adjusted lower too.

Overall, I would definitely not recommend this chair. It seems overpriced for what you get, despite the HON brand, and provides very weak back support.

PS - Assembly was fine - no problems - basically what you expect for most chairs like this.

I saw other reviews that mentioned that the seat was hard, the chair was noisy, and the chair was tall.
My seat is soft and comfortable.
My chair doesn't creak or squeak.
It is very tall though. I am 5'10" and at the lowest height my barefeet are flat on the ground. I wouldn't recommend this chair if you are shorter than 5'8".

Overall, for me this is a great chair. Highly recommend.
