Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2020Preface: This is a review of the keyboard only. I already own a wireless mouse (MX Master also from Logitech!) and thus set the mouse aside.
Prepreface: I've owned the product for ~1 week. Thus no reliability issues so far but then again, it's only been a week.
The keyboard works great!
I have plenty of Logitech products and the unifying receiver was one of the big reasons why I picked a Logitech keyboard over a different brand. I was able to connect to my pre-existing unifying receiver with 0 issues.
No issues at all with connectivity. I wake up in the morning, start typing, and letters show up. It just works! I've also played games on it and there's no noticeable input delay either.
Ergonomically, the wrist rest is a wrist saver!
However, not everything is perfect. Couple of minor cons to look out for:
- The wrist rest material is a rubbery textured material. You know the type. It's going to wear off and gather grim.
- There's no right windows key. I didn't know keyboards existed without the right windows key.
- The top right shortcut keys. I hate them. I despise them. I can't disable them. One is a battery light indicator. Cute. 1 opens up your calculator app. Why the heck would I need a keyboard shortcut for that? 1 locks your computer. I hate hitting that. And the last one, the very top right key, is a monster. It opens up your web browser home page, using your CURRENT tab. While writing THIS review, I accidentally hit that godforsaken button and it deleted my review. It doesn't ask, there's no confirmation for leaving a form. Homepage. Watching a YouTube video and grab the corner of your keyboard to adjust it and hit the key? Homepage. Inputting numbers through the numpad and accidentally hit the key while trying to type -? Homepage. Drop everything and go directly to homepage.
I'm making it a bigger deal than it should be because I'm still rating the keyboard 5 stars!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2024We tried a lower-priced variant for a home office setup and ended up returning it for this Logitech. - Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2018First off, I'm coming from a Microsoft Desktop 2000 which has (almost) none of the niceties this combo has. I also visited several stores with keyboard/mouse displays so I could select the right type of combo.
I am a programmer and I find key size and placement to be very important! The first thing that attracted be do this combo was the height of the Esc/Function keys. Aside from being of "full" height (relatively) they are grouped and spaced well making it easy to find what you are looking for in the dark. To add, the separation between the QWERTY, Editing/Navigation, and NumPad is essential to me as I can find where the keys I'm looking for with less risk of making grave mistakes. Furthermore, the keys are located where I expect them! I can't stand keyboard that move the backslash key or insert key or use to two row enter/delete key. That kind of s*** makes programming quite frustration.
The font is pleasant (trivial, I know) and I like the lowercase on non-lettered keys. Additionally, the labeling are stickers so they are considerably less likely to rub off with constant use!
Some people may find the keys to be noisy but I think that it adds to the feedback. There is a slight resistance to the key which also yields feedback.
The mouse could be a bit bigger but whatev... It is quite precise, comfortable, and doesn't feel cheap (neither does the keyboard).
I would buy this keyboard combo again. I'll follow up in a year or so.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good keyboard layout and mouse size.
I type a lot for my work, so it was a surprise that my Microsoft Sculpt keyboard and mouse started wearing-off sooner than I expected. The Logitech MK545 combo felt like a good simple replacement. Its keyboard has a good layout, with just the right keys and not crowded than what's necessary. It has standard function keys, a calculator key, Windows lock key (handy), media buttons, and volume keys (takes a few presses to work at times). Typing is soft and comfortable. Keyboard build quality is decent, but it can be better at this price point. Hand-rest should've been a little longer for full placement. The mouse is just the right size for my hand, not too small and not too big. But Logitech should make the mouse clicks a bit softer. Overall a good combo for everyday use in home or office.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty nice keyboard, but...
Good product, and the keyboard itself is well built. It has a very nice feel to it and the keys are very responsive and tactile. The mouse however is not very comfortable to use. The scroll wheel has a feel that is not smooth and is not comfortable when used.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for office work - quiet and comfortable
I've purchased two of these MK545 combos in the past 7 years, and I love them. First: this appears to be an Amazon-exclusive version of the MK540 that Logitech sells directly. The main upgrade compared to the MK540 is the texture on the wrist rest, and that makes a BIG difference in a good way: it's comfortable, non-slip (which is good for long days of officin'), and doesn't collect fingerprints/smudges.
Other Pros:
- The keys are quiet but with still enough travel that typing a long, admonishing e-mail is a breeze.
- Media keys worked generally very well with most audio applications, including browser-based.
- The mouse is comfortable, quiet, responds well on most surfaces and has a nice weight to it; good for long fights with Excel or MSPaint.
- One dongle for both devices saves on ports, an ever-more-precious commodity in modern computer designs.
Cons:
- I occasionally had stutters/input lag with the keyboard itself, but I suspect that was the result of poor placement or interference from the desk setup and where the dongle is (which reads both keyboard and mouse). It was never persistent, and my wife (to whom I've since relinquished this in favour of gaming-friendly peripherals) has never complained about it.
Overall I love this set, and would happily return to it if I wasn't playing computer games (where I like a bit more responsiveness). Perfect for office life, especially if you share an office.

1.0 out of 5 stars Mice made with failure prone button switches
I once loved Logitech. Their MX518 mice were extremely well made but that was many years ago and came from a company focused on end users and quality. They now seem solely focused on profit and getting you replace the same defective hardware over and over. This combo was an expensive upgrade to avoid the defects in entry models. The keyboard worked well most of the time. I sometimes had communication issues where typing would lag. I did miss the back lighting I had with my wired keyboards at night. The mouse was made with very low quality parts and would only connect un-encrypted which caused various security issues. The keyboard's communication is protected by AES encryption but the mouse is un-encrypted. There have been many attacks against similar systems but finding a fully protected system i.e. one where both keyboard and mouse are AES encrypted and un-encrypted communication is blocked is like hunting for unicorns.
This was supposed to be a fourth replacement combo for the same problem i.e. premature mouse button switch failure, in a few years. Higher quality mouse switches are supposed to be rated in 50-70 million clicks. Where I'm using these mice they are lightly used but have been failing in a few months instead of the many years even 50 million clicks should take. The failure mode results in single clicks randomly getting registered as double clicks making the mouse unusable.
Getting support from Logitech support is hopeless. They delay support ignoring your inability to work with their failing devices forcing you into time wasting support articles and extra hoops meant to keep you from getting a warranty replacement for their defective products. Even if you jump through the hoops, and it will take months and multiple attempts, you get another defective product, shipped from outside of the country, which will likely suffer the same failure mode after a few months. Given the MX518 easily lasted 10 years with daily near constant use, Logitech once mastered the mouse button switch but it seems likely they switched to cheaper parts to maximize profits. An obvious solution would be switching back to their previous quality mouse button switches from the MX518 era or updating to optical switches. Unless they actually address the quality issues I'm unlikely to buy another Logitech product. I've been burned too many times. Buyers should expect mouse failure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Holy moly
Got this set 50% off, and for $40 this is a big value for money. I am fond of the mouse, the extra buttons that can be programmed with logi software are so useful. Same for the keyboard, those programmable buttons can save lots of time.
The material feels premium and the looks are great, both mouse and keyboard are very comfortable to use, (I work 9 straight hours using the computer).
Fits well with my desk and got lots of compliments on it.
No issues with signal so far, and I like how fast the response when your turn on / off the devices from the easy accessible buttons.
Just make sure that you get the 545 model, because the 540 comes with a mouse without the side and wheel buttons. Also buy a descent pad (steel series $8) to get a buttery experience.
Highly recommended, only one issue, mine came with some stains on the shift and fn key, not a big deal but I am a perfectionist and I hate such stuff.
