Awesome portable powerpack with an AC outlet!
Be sure to check out my video review in the video section above! If you’re shopping for one of these you’re going to find another one called the “Powerhouse 100.” I think the “90” is the new version of this product with a slightly smaller battery. This may have been required so it can be under the minimum for airline carry-ons, or they were looking so shave some cost. The difference between the two is about 10 watt hours. The Powerhouse 90 advertises about 87 watt hours – meaning if you had a 1 watt draw it could run (theoretically) for 87 hours. The real-world longevity you’ll get out of the battery will vary but I think if you had a full load of 87 watts through its AC outlet you’ll likely see far less than an hour due to overhead of the inverter, etc.The powerbank can deliver a maximum of about 160 watts simultaneously budgeted as follows: 12 watts for the USB-A ports, 45 watts for the USB-C port and 100 watts for the AC outlet. In my testing I plugged in a large video LED light that draws 36 watts via the AC outlet, had a Steam Deck drawing about 33 watts out of the USB-C, and plugged in two smart phones to the USB-A ports. It was able to provide consistent power to each device. The power bank charges via the USB-C port at a rate of 45 watts. A full charge from empty will take about 3 hours via a 45 watt USB-C power adapter. So what’s the use case here? For me it’s about charging the devices I have in my production bag that can’t charge over USB. For example my Canon and Sony camcorders I use for remote productions need to be charged using their AC adapters. This pack will allow me to keep things topped off (or even fully powered) as we walk from one location to another when shooting a dispatch video.I've already deployed this several times in the field and it has been flawless. A great device that travels with me everywhere I need some added backup power at the ready.

So I have this power bank for quite some time and it works amazingly while I'm at work or on the go for school or at school whenever I can't find an outlet, and so far it works great for an alternative. I even let friends and co workers chime in on using this and it's always funny to see them react to this big brick of electricity. On the segment on charging power bank it does take a bit of course and it's nice that they give you a 45W wall charger alongside it for optimal charging, but luckily I have a 60W so I'm quite happy of having 30 minutes less of charging this thing lol.

Of course as the title says there is a little note I want to give, I been seeing a lot of reviews of people complaining that the charger is not of actual charging capacity as its advertised and I want to help clear up the misunderstanding that they and/or you have. Whenever it comes to charging a device, and this can go for any powerbank, there will always be a power loss on charging devices, meaning whenever you do charge your laptop or phone or whatever, there is resistance between the bank and the charging device giving a portion of the energy transferred "lossed" and thus makes charging little less efficient as people would expect them to perform, about 5-10% less than what you would expect

TL;DR- Battery is good, buy if you want. Because we don't live in a perfect world and its a battery, it's not 100% efficient as you would expect.

For example my Canon and Sony camcorders I use for remote productions need to be charged using their AC adapters. This pack will allow me to keep things topped off (or even fully powered) as we walk from one location to another when shooting a dispatch video.

I've already deployed this several times in the field and it has been flawless. A great device that travels with me everywhere I need some added backup power at the ready.

The overall build and technical capacity was really what had me made the purchase after I had the 25600 powerbank. Though the charging was powerful, the battery doesn't nearly last as long as it should be. I'm not sure if it's the battery indicator FLAW. I usually keep the batter in my backpack and it sometimes fully deplets within 24 hours without any usage?!! I can only think is that while it's moving in my backpack the power button might have actually been pressed "ON" and did the standby drainage. Sadly I couldn't return it even I bought it on the initial sale. I'm really regretting the purchase..

9 month update - after several trips I declare this battery is no longer practical. Unless my other 25600 mAh anker battery that never had the "auto-battery-drain" problem. The AC power get activated easily while it stays in my backpack and it dries within 24 hours and it get hot when I actually found out when I was checking on it while in travel (already drained nearly 50%). I would not recommend this though I've been a long fan to Anker products and would recommend you look for other models.

I love this AC charger. It charges most handheld devices you'd use everyday and TSA compliant. I used it to inflate an air mattress at Coachella from flat to full 3 times (using ac port) with no issues with juice to spare to charge my cell.

I have to knock off a star because the power button is frustratingly and easily pressed accidentally, both discharging your battery but also running its internal fan which, if inside a closed bag, could cause serious problems for its functionality. I solved this by taping a hotel keycard over the physical power button and that helps, but you probably shouldn't have to do this for such a pricey device.

I’ve bought 4 Anker products over the last 2 years and I’m happy with all of them. This particular product I used only a handful of times and it just wouldn’t charge anymore. I was really bummed because $200 was a big chunk to pay for something that didn’t hold up. I had already passed my warranty date (prob around 15-18 months or so) and I just thought I’d try to reach out to customer service just to see if they would help. THEY DID! They immediately sent me a brand new one! Quick response. Easy process. I’m just so pleased with customer service and the company for sending me a new product when they really didn’t have to! I will definitely continue to use these products. Thanks Anker!

5.0 out of 5 stars Capacity as advertised, or better!

For those concerned about the capacity of this device: first, I cannot speak to defective units, the one I received is excellent; more importantly, the numbers on the Anker website are accurate. If anything I get more than what is listed there. I do not have a camera to charge, but I have a phone, tablet, and laptop; all of which can be charged multiple times.

I suspect that some of the other reviews here are due to misuse or misunderstanding of the AC outlet. Whenever possible you should be charging via USB. If you have a laptop that has both an AC adapter and USB C charging, use the USB C charging. The AC outlet will not have the same capacity as there will be power loss when converting from battery power.

One other item to note is that if the little blue LED by the power indicator is on, that means the AC converter is on. If you are not using the AC outlet this should be off. All of the USB ports will provide power without the AC converter being active.

Great product. To me the AC outlet is a bonus.

Wondering
1.0 out of 5 stars Died in a year - told it's because I don't use it regularly
Reviewed in Canada on April 17, 2024

Bought this for occasional use, to enable me to move an external display or mini PC around the house and wanted the AC outlet option. At first it worked well but I don't charge it all the time, knowing the mat be instances where it might be discharged after not being used for a while but thought I could just charge it again like every other external power bank I've owned. So I was surprised when it was dead and wouldn't charge one day a year later. I called support and they said it is like a car battery so if it's not used for a while it will die. I don't believe car batteries are permanently dead after long misuse, and can be recharged so not sure why this was the case. I was also told this is a common issue reported by other users of this power bank. When I received the RMA, there was no documentation included indicating it needs to be charged regularly to avoid not working in the future. Feel like this was not money well spent since I now have to charge it and use it regularly...I might as well plug directly into the wall. Do not recommend this as a result.
